Weak parts.....
Trap works well. Caught three feral cats and ring tail racoon. Was having issues with hooking door open managed to adjust by bending just a smidgen and it works good. Asked for return to Amazon due to door hook and they quickly responded by sending replacement. Thanks to my error of not taking time to adjust hook, I will have another great trap, rightly at my expense.

Trapped 6 Groundhogs in 1 Month
Been having a problem with groundhogs this year. My cairn terrier has killed 2 and he got slightly wounded fighting 2 others. I absolutely hate groundhogs. After the last incident my vet put my dog on quarantine because of the latest groundhog encounter. So I decided to start playing hardball. Bought this trap and over the past 1.5 months I’ve caught 6 groundhogs. Baited the trap with watermelon slices which really works great. Been letting the groundhogs go free in a county park about 5 miles away. Really glad this trap came with the long heavy welders gloves when handling the trap because I worry about getting bitten by their long, strong teeth. The only negative thing I have to say about this trap is that the instructions are nebulous. The good news is someone created a YouTube video showing how to assemble the trap.

Looks like it will work but was weak in places
The media could not be loaded. This trap had some weak spots and I knew it going in, as other reviewers had mentioned it. So from the start I was prepared to reenforce the trap as best I could. I clamped the crimps tighter and added steel carabiners to each door to keep trapped animals from escaping. You can look at my photos and the extra hardware are circled in yellow. I also crimped the trip rod onto the spring to keep it from just hanging loosely! And used the carabiners to keep the rods that hold both doors and the cage shape firmness as well. I don’t plan to fold this up again. I just don’t want and escape! I paid $350. for a dead opossum removal from my crawl space 2 years ago OMG the stench was unbearable. I saw one on my security camera 6 days ago. It has to go! Update 2 opossums caught so far and 1 on the loose. But I will get that one too. They were a catch and release far from my home out in the country. I used caramel rice cakes with peanut butter and marshmallows. The trap is working fine.

Works well for price
Product assembly is fairly easy, but instructions are hard to understand. Could be broken down better but only takes about 60 seconds to get fully assembled.I've used Marshmellows to catch 5 raccoons with this cage so far. None have broken out but have bent the metal trap arm, as well as one managed the rip the floor step off.Thankfully both are easily repairable with just pliers. Overall, product holds a full grown raccoon very well and prevents escape. Comes with gloves that work well. Will be buying more in the future.

Works sometimes, but can be spoofed by experienced cats.
I've used a variety of traps from different companies and while this isn't the worst trap I've ever seen it's got some flaws.A large or long necked cat can reach the bait at the back of the trap without setting it off. This is not the only trap I've ever seen this happen with but it's annoyingly frustrating all the same. I've had to set it up as a manually activated drop and wait for one animal that was consistently robbing food out of the trap without setting it off. Once I did that it worked fine but it's much better to set it and walk away and come back to a full trap rather than missing bait.Construction is not the sturdiest. I'd advise you pick something stronger if you want to catch racoons. It works OK for cats and possums though. I did end up having to permanently seal the back door of the trap which is a bummer because it makes baiting a lot harder. It's also annoying that the arm to operate the drop is INSIDE the cage and a frustrated animal trapped inside can knock it loose. The gloves that came with it are decent enough and will keep you from getting scratched but be warned that cats and racoons can bite through almost any leather glove if they want to.For the money it's good enough but I wish I could have bought something a little nicer.

Trap small/medium pests. Not so Sturdy
These traps will work well enough for a medium sized animal such as an Armadillo. I caught a relatively big one in it. Maybe 20 lbs. or so. The rear door is good for letting the animal out of the trap without getting your fingers in there, but it is a bit awkward. It would be good if they provided a more convenient latch on it. The trap works, but it isn't the sturdiest. The trigger plate inside the trap bent and it was difficult to get it working correctly again. Remember not to allow the floor plate trigger to fall in the opposite direction when you are unloading the trap with a heavy animal in it. The gloves are a nice addition, and I suspected they would be cheap. But I was pleasantly surprised at their quality. Remember to use the gloves when working with the cage with an animal in it. I don't think being scratched by a wild animal would be a good thing. The armadillo was able to destroy the lawn underneath the trap by sticking his claws out of the holes in the bottom. It might be a good idea to protect the lawn by placing something over it first before placing the trap. Just a thought.
