Useful resource and addition to other family tree books we have for recording information.

My copy quite rightly is updated to include husbands as well as wives in the list I think of as being for the brothers & sisters of your ancestors (if they had 24 siblings, poor mothers). Also, though the pedigree chart only goes back 5 generations there are more than one of them. I did find ancestors further back so I can continue them on other pagesI like the book very much though I do think it looks as if it is aimed at children with large print.I like some good ideas like recording the research trail, heirlooms listI agree with other reviewers it has some confusing pages & too much less relevant stuff where it could encourage space for family trees to include siblings, lists for census findings & room for a timeline of what happened each year which is hugely useful for, for example helping us work which generation people given parents' names were or ages of people when events happened or if someone lived to know about some terrible event, if a later child was given the same name as an earlier one & more room for if we have come across great adventures & storiesOverall I'm finding it useful & loving recording it but almost half of it I'm overwrting their suggestions with what I actually want to record. I'm using a cemetry grid to do a quick reference chart for each person as to whether I have their birth, marriages, death & which census years they are in. I can't help thinking it will be very confusing to look back on or show to others later but that may enable them to have a sense of discovery

Only goes back 5 generations but it's a good recording and learning tool. Will purchase again.
