LOVE this series!
This is the one to read and practice! What an easy, and more importantly, effective guide on managing anxiety for girls. As the mom of two daughters and teacher to many middle and high school girls, this book could not have come at a better time. Everything about it, from the author’s tone to the excellent strategies, creates a sense of relief. My 19 year old daughter soaked up every word and then shared with me that she felt like the ideas in the book provided the tools to tackle some feelings that have been overwhelming her around not just school but friendships too. A definite “whoa” moment! I actually overheard her tell her (older) sister that she should read it too. So, yeah, another copy is on its way! I’m feeling genuinely grateful to Dr. Hemmen for putting this series together, especially this one. She really has a way of helping our girls navigate all the big, overwhelming, anxiety inducing “stuff” that comes with getting older in today’s world.

Very helpful guidance and tools!
I was looking for a book to help my daughters who are having a very hard time with anxiety. Like a lot of teens during quarantine, they've been going through a lot of anxiety and I often feel overwhelmed with trying to help them through it all. My 17 year old really liked the "nerd alert" sections that focuses readers in building psychological knowledge. She shared a few things she learned with me that I'm glad to know! My 14 year old daughter is reading it now and I'm very grateful and relieved that she's sticking with it. She's not a big reader but says it's comforting and interesting. Fingers crossed and thank you Teen Girl Anxiety Survival Guide.

Amazing, informative read—highly recommend!
So happy I read this book! From a mom’s perspective, I was hoping reading it would give me insights to help my daughter work through her anxiety, it offers that and so much more! I would recommend to parents, teens, and anyone else who is looking to better understand anxiety and gain tools to help with anxiety. Something I wish I could have read as a recourse when I was a teen. Lucie Hemmen is an awesome writer, looking forward to reading her other books!

Helpful inside, not so helpful outside cover
Excellent, engaging book that anxious teen girls will be able to relate to. Based on sound scientific research. I was sad, however, to see that the cover photo features three thin girls (two White, and one with light brown skin). Not a helpful visual message for girls wrestling with body image, racial and color differences, etc. I hope a second edition will feature a more relatable image.

Very worthwhile read!
As a therapist who has worked a lot with teenagers, as well as being a parent of two teenagers, I have both professional and personal reasons to read this book. I really like the solid and science based information the author provides in a way that is easily accessible to teenagers. The information in this book is helpful and relatable. This is a very timely book in today's climate of high anxiety. Highly recommended!

Good for anxiety coping mechanisms
I bought this book for my teenage daughter dealing with anxiety and depression and she seems to like it. I got it so that she can reference the different real life stories included and have a source of comfort to let her know there are ways to cope with anxiety and depression.

This book will make you feel powerful!
I love the perspective of this book... that you can be stronger and more grounded than the "anxiety bully" that tries to tell you otherwise. I am over 50 and enjoyed this book from start to finish, learning new strategies along the way. As soon as I finished it, I bought 5 more copies... one for each of my teenage daughters, and three for my over-50 friends who also need it.

Not so helpful
Not very well organized or worded and I wish it was more interactive with activities or tools to try. Would not recommend.
