Deep In The Heart Of Texas
Oh, what a wonderful book for children. So many lessons to be learned. The author, Jane O'Connor, has written a book that almost any school child can relate.Nancy Clancy is pretty well known to many children because of the book series. In this book, Nancy Clancy is in the third grade, and she has always wanted to be on stage, to be famous. It turns out the third grade, of which she is a member, has a school play. This year it is called The Nifty Fifty, a play on the 50 states. Today was the audition, and Nancy is going to play her guitar. She has been taking lessons. Her best friend Bree is going to tap dance, and Nancy's friend, Grace, who is jealous of Nancy will sing. Who will be asked to come back, or a call back. This means you have been picked to be part of the play. Once you have read this book, you will appreciate the work and worry it takes to be in a play. The illustrations by Robin Preiss Glasser, are done in black and white, and they portray all of the activities of Nancy, Bree, Grace, JoJo, Nancy's little sister, her mother and father, and all her school mates. If a parent/teacher is reading this book to their children, they will enjoy the lessons learned and the storyline. All children, it seems has someone who might bully them or make them feel bad. This is a good time to discuss those kind of things that may occur at school. The writing is wonderfully suited for children and adults. New words are introduced, anda has word is described so that the meaning is clear. I enjoyed the storyline a great deal, it was full of truths and wisdom.Highly Recommended. prisrob 04-03-15

... my daughter's 8th birthday and I could not be happier! The plotlines are fun
**This review is for all Nancy Clancy chapter books currently available**We purchased the entire set for my daughter's 8th birthday and I could not be happier! The plotlines are fun, the sentences are easy to work through while still providing an expanded vocabulary to improve reading level, and the chapters are a good length for working through a few each night. My daughter loved the Fancy Nancy first readers and was so excited there was a chapter book version! 10/10 Highly recommend!

Great for my daughter
Rather than give out candy in a goody bag at my daughters party, we went for books. Fancy Nancy is popular in her grade and this book fit with her party theme. It was also well priced

Fun Read
I gave this book to my darling eight-year old niece who told me she just loved it. I sent it to her, and she called me and told me the day she received it, she was already on Chapter 3, and still ardently reading it.The title "Fancy Nancy: Nancy Clancy" attracted me, and I felt my niece would enjoy this book, and I was right. I will continue to buy the "Nancy Clancy" series for my niece.

a fun chapter book little girls can relate to
This fun title from the Fancy Nancy chapter book stories by O'Connor hits a sweet spot with young girls. They seem to relate to her outlook and viewpoints, making her a relatable character.

Nice book
It was a really great book, I really liked it. I'm glad everything turned out for Nancy in the end. I'm excited to read the next one, because it was a very nice book. Written by my seven year old daughter.
