Kotobukiya Halo: Mark V Armor Statue

The Mark V Kotobukiya statue has one of the very best sculpts for a Master Chief figure on the market. You won't get the range of articulation from a Play Arts Kai or McFarlane figure, but you still get some decent head, arm, and torso articulation. This allows for a good variety of poses. It would be nice if the knees bent, but the paint application is virtually perfect (though simple), and the sculpt is more accurate than any figure since the old 2003 Joyride toys. In my opinion McFarlane figures tend to look messy or sloppy, and the Play Arts figures have slightly off proportions.It's hard to describe, but in person the sculpt for the Kotobukiya figure is just clean and the colors are perfect. I saw the two-pack blue/red Spartans in a Gamestop store and knew I had to pick one of these up.I didn't expect to see that aside from the magnum, this figure also included the energy sword that is sold with the Mark VI spartan armor. It has a great sculpt as well, and was a nice surprise.Assembly is easy and takes a couple minutes. The individual pieces fit snugly together without much force.Yes, it's important to note that this figure is just the ARMOR for the Mark V Master Chief statue. Reminder that this is JUST THE ARMOR set for those thinking they’re getting the full figure. I added this to the Halo body I had and it looks great! Love this armor so much more than the Halo 4 armor.

Impressive sculpt of the fondest Halo armour in the franchise. Except they did not use the files from Halo CE Anniversary, 343i supplied their own version of the Mk V for this PVC limited articulation statue. For $35 the sculpt is perfect, accessories are OK, Chief again should have the tools from Halo CEA, instead he comes with weapons from Halo 4 which is OK as Halo 4 designs are great when good, awful when bad. The paint app leaves something to be desired for sure, but ultimately it does the job and is base colour accurate for CE. I was really hoping this would be a 1/11th scale version of the Sideshow Collectibles Halo CE Anniversary Mark V Chief, i can only hope that maybe Square Enix may create that mold someday...Oh, and one last thing, it actually does pay to get the Halo 4 kit as well so u can get the Assault rifle to use with this figure!NOTE: The pictures included with this review feature accessories NOT included in the item pkg, i had an Actionclix (or HeroClix?) Buyer beware: This is just an armor set and doesn't come with the Halo Spartan Techsuit Basic Body that the armor attaches to. This is extremely misleading based on the photos presented and the name of the item. Feel flat out cheated.
