Carefully read the product details! This locket is steel that is plated. This is not necessarily a drawback as the steel makes the locket sturdy. It is either mild steel or a type of stainless steel the is magnetic...I put the locket up to a refrigerator magnet and there was a weak attraction. Even though it is fairly tough, treat it with care just as you would a piece of jewelry made from precious metals (don't scratch the plating).There is a tiny magnet at the pin you use to open the locket and this keeps the locket closed except when you want it open. This is a good feature that is not mentioned in the product description, as you don't want it flopping open at odd times while you're wearing it.Some reviewers have complained that the blue "jewel" is plastic, not a stone. I don't care! Whatever it's made of, it catches the light nicely and looks good.The locket is five centimeters long (almost exactly two inches) and looks to be a good match, size-wise, for the lockets worn by the actresses on the show. The chain that comes with the locket is 45 centimeters (about 18 inches) long and wouldn't go around my neck, so I replaced the chain with one that causes the locket to hang in just the right spot...a simple and inexpensive fix.That last point brings me to a point I want to make. Several reviewers said that they liked the show when they were younger, and now that they have kids of their own, they bought stuff for their daughters. That implies past-tense (not to mention excluding men and boys). That's a shame. Buy this locket for yourself and recapture the magic you knew when you were younger. Amazon has lots of stuff for fans of the show.

Look very good and stylish

It just broke rather easily when my 9 year old wore it after 2 weeks.

I can't honestly speak to the quality at this time because I haven't decided if I'm going to even take this out of the package or not but I had to review it to make it clear that this is indeed the genuine, licensed H2O locket sold elsewhere for a lot more. The writing on the packaging is in a language I can't identify...some kind of Latin derivative but otherwise the packaging is identical. It comes with 3 cardboard "photos" of the girls. (I think the top blond is the Indiana Evans character rather than Emma which seems odd). It also comes with a pink h2o just add water pouch. As genuine H2O products are so rare over here (especially at anything resembling affordable prices) I may buy a second one to actually wear. If I do I'll give a review of the actual necklace's quality.

At first the locket was fine, and the only issue I had was that the gemstone looks like it's made out of plastic and really cheap looking. Plus the locket door was slightly warped so that it was hard to open. Then some sort of coating started peeling off both from the locket itself and on the chain as well, and now it's super rusty and ugly looking. Not worth the price at all.

Item we received doesn't look like pictures, plus it uses a super weak magnet to close instead of a latch, so it constantly pops open just walking around. Don't buy from this seller, they are selling overpriced junk products

Our granddaughter loves this necklace. It is nice quality, too.

The media could not be loaded. I got the magnet one and the magnetic hold on the clasp is very weak as well as the hinge, for about 20$ I have expected a little better. I have a collection of different versions of this locket and some that I have found have a little more quality than this one. That is why I am giving this product 3/5 stars
