I am quite pleased with this device. It works well. I think it will get even easier with a bit of practice. When you put pressure on the lid it seems to push the lid out of round enough to break the vacuum and thus loosen it enough for easy removal. I recommend.

Doesn't work on water bottles with short caps.

I'm 65 and have limited strength in my hands. This enables me to open jars and bottles (even stubborn Ocean Spray ones) easily and quickly without having to bang the jar or bottle on the counter enough to loosen the top to turn it.

First time out of the box to use on a large 4 inch lid jar of Pickles. I could easily have opened it by hand but wanted to try this gadget I bought for my wife who has strength issues in her hands. Gripped this to the outer edge of the lid and proceeded to try to turn. This thing CUT INTO THE LID AND PUNCTURED IT. It DID NOT turn the lid in any way shape or form. It cut the metal lid! I'm hoping it did not render the lid useless for sealing the Pickles in that brand new jar. I had to actually work the "blade" out of the metal lid. The "teeth" on the opener barely gripped and as I turned it with barely any pressure, it then slid and then cut into and through the lid. Bad design. Bad product. Don't waste your money. Buy something else. Getting so tired of cheap crap like this being sold on Amazon. Giving this 1 star because it IS metal, and it did LOOK like the pictures. And it didnt fall apart like some reviews have mentioned. But taking for stats off because IT DOES NOT FUNCTION AS ADVERTISED.

I purchased this for my 90+ year old parents. My mother has arthritis and dads hands shake. Neither were able to adequately grasp the combination of the slide handle and friction grip to make it useful and I suspect it would just sit in their cutlery drawer. I chose to keep this for myself and will search for a different option for them. The opener works and offers good leverage on smaller lids up to 2" but you lose some of the leverage gain on larger diameter lids such a mayonnaise or mason jars do to handle length and an individuals arm/wrist strength. It is cheaply made and finicky. Its a struggle to use and not easy to use.

Awesome tool for opening jars and Bottle tops. Less strain on your hands especially if you have arthritis. Good price also
