I bought 5 different braces from amazon within a week and this one was the best by FAR !!!
I bought 5 different braces to try to stabilize my thumb from an injury. This one is the best by a long shotI tried the following ones and below are my preferences from most liked (first) to least liked:-1.Bort SellaDur Thumb Arthtitis & Thumb Sprain Treatment-2.Comfort Cool CMC Restriction Splint-3.Med Spec Tee Pee Thumb Protector-4.Neo G Medical VSC thumb brace-5.Thumb Spica - Stabilizer Brace - by BioSkinThe Bort is by far the most stabilizing and comfortable. Its got one elastic/Velcro strap so its easy to get on and off, plus the best part is the hand sock/glove thing that wicks moisture away from the skin so you can leave the thing on longer without it getting smelly, sweaty or leaving a rash on you hand.I did end up taking a heat gun to the plastic part and adjusting some of the areas where there were sharp edges or such. Some people say not to do this and have it done professionally but that would cost more than screwing it up a few times attempting it yourself. I do wish I could find more of the gloves to buy separately. I havent been able to yet and it is a nice material glove. All the other ones are neoprene like material that ends up making your hand/brace stink and get a rash after extended use because they don't breath well. A few of these are good at immobilizing the thumb well but the combination of not breathing well or being somewhat difficult to attach knocks them off my list. The Thumb Spica brace was great but it had so many straps and Velcro that it was really time consuming to put on and off which wasn't what I wanted for something that I planned on wearing regularly for a month or more. This Neo G isn't bad, its easy to install, supports the thumb well, is ambidextrous, but it doesn't breath well ( and most other ones don't either).

The pain was more than it was worth
The plastic was way to hard and unforgiving. In reading the item description and reviews, I knew the plastic wasn't pliable but, I did not expect this. It cuts into the skin at the thumb joint and the cradle of the thumb and index finger. I purchased this for support after carpal tunnel and DeQuervain tendinitis surgeries. This product applied pressure exactly where I did not want it and loosening it did not help. Additionally, I have small hands and putting this wrist brace on and off wasn't the easiest or most comfortable process, even with the undersock. A more pliable and forgiving plastic would be just as effective as this torture device.

the plastic around the thumb is hard plastic - not rubber cuts thumbs
If you use these daily for snowboarding to prevent UCL (thumb ligament tears) then this product needs to be revamped completely. The hard plastic is fine for most of the brace, but up by the thumb, they use the same hard abrasive plastic that has already caused abrasions to my thumb area that are unaccceptaable. These need to go back to the drawing board, and include rubber around the actual thumb area, so when direct skin comes into contact with thumb slot, that your skin will be spared by using rubber lining so that you aren't having a hard polyurethane plastic, that is simply ripping apart your thumb.Besides that the product is lightweight, and it works well. But I can't have abrasions that cause bleeding every time I use these braces. I even use a merino wool under glove, and that doesn't even help, because the plastic is so rigid. What needs to happen, is that they overlay a soft rubber on the thumb part on top of the abrasive plastic so you don't get bad cuts/abrasions/scratches everytime you go out riding.Good concept -- but they need a v2.0 using rubber on the thumb area so that it is gentle on the thumb. For the price ($35) and the cost of production (I imagine it's $2-4) since I could 3-d print this myself for that price, and this is a company at scale. THere is no reason to not include rubber on all contact points with the skin -- first and foremost the thumb, but also around the edges of brace, where your palm meets the hard plastic.PLEASE Make a V2.0 and make it better. I know you can do it, and I will be a customer for life once you do so. If you ride 100+ days like I do, my guess is that the designers/engineers never took into the fact that just how abrasive the hard polyurethane is on the skin. Get someone on your development team, and have them use it for 50 days straight, and tell me that they don't suffer abbrasions/cuts/scratches and it makes me not want to use a product that I desperately need to I don't tear my UCL for a 3rd time. Thanks

Inflexible
I thought this looked appropriate due to being washable and leaving palm free. It is very inflexible and hard. This makes your thumb entirely inflexible. If you want some thumb movement don't use this.
