MoraknivCraftsmen 7350 Insulation Knife with Serrated Stainless Steel Blade, 13.8-Inch

I’m a plumber and have to insulate some times when our insulation subcontractors can’t keep enough workers on the jobsites & meet GC deadlines. I found this long insulation knife to be perfect for fiberglass and mineral wool type insulations, especially thicker material. It comes unburred from the factory to save you and me Money! So don’t take off a star for that, as it easily comes off with your first cuts, you can also use a knife sharpener to remove them quickly also. Blade is amazing and sharp as hell! I recommend buying a 14” sheath also, as it only comes with a plastic blade protector for shipping.

This knife does what it should, very sharp and made working with rock wool easy. Also, the width of the blade is exactly two inches so I used it to measure cutouts for outlets and light switches… no need for the tape measure. Cool trick that helped me out. Great product!

Wow it's as great as other people say. I'm a 56 year old housewife and recently had batt insulation professionally installed, but unfortunately the crew was sloppy, so I'm gradually fixing it. This knife cuts through glass mineral wool R-38 like butter. I could even cut the batt at an angle to fit those tricky sloped beam corners. Like other reviewers have said, it came with a few metal shards on the cutting edge so definitely open it over a garbage can and wipe it a bit. I made a leather sheath for it and reinforced the cutting edge side with a 2nd layer of leather. I still don't hold it by that edge when I'm pulling the knife out or pushing it in since it can also slice through leather. While I don't enjoy fixing insulation, this knife at least makes the job a lot easier.

Saw this recommended someplace, purchased and very happy with use with wool insulation. Originally had plans to use with R-30 batts (so would benefit from a long knife) but decided to save money with double layer of R-15. Length of knife makes it easy to cut 16" nominal batt. Wicked sharp and seems just like new after installation of ~70 batts.

I’m glad I read the reviews about burrs on the blade and another review of how easy it was to resolve.I would have freaked-out if I didn’t have a clue what was coming. I used a Scotch Brite pad to gently remove the burrs. All done in 30 seconds. VERY SHARP.I really appreciate the reviews people post.

Very good knife but too big

Works great on the mineral wool I tried :* RockWool: R30, R15 and "Safe and sound"* Thermafiber: R23Clean, straight and easy cut.Blade is sturdy and won't bend during the cut ( unlike other sold in big box store)Pro insulation guy kept asking where did found this knive, I think he was jealous :)Made my work much better and easier to do.Money very well spent.
