Bought this as a gift. Recipient says that the pancakes come our very hard on the outside. They needed to be cut wtih a knife. Is this normal?

If you beat the batter too long that can make the pancakes kind of hard. We make these all the time, adding in our own eggs and milk for extra nutrition and they come out just fine. I have noticed that they come out a bit fluffier if you don’t add extra eggs...

I have a can that is so swollen both ends are bulging out. Why is this only lasting 6 years instead of 25? It has been held at 74 Deg. or less

It is only stores for up to 10 years if kept at 55 to us degrees. This is one product you need to rotate out. I only count on it lasting 5 years before using and replacing.

Is this product treated for weevils?

I would think so, as all flour sold in the U.S. is treated, or at least the flour bags are, to keep weevils out. After opening the can place a Bay Leaf from your spice bottles (Or a few if you are using the plastic bucket or pail) into the top of the pancake mix powder. It works! I have never had bugs or their hatchlings invade my flour or mixes when I do this.

What is the manufacturing date and expiration

The pancake mix has a 10yr shelf life. My manufacturer date is apr 17, 20 and it expires on April 17 , 30
