Also, for exhaust noise you would need to add a layer of Mass Loaded Vinyl like our Luxury Liner Pro to properly block out that type of air borne noise. Butyl sound deadening kills vibration noise and helps with heat transfer through the metal. MLV blocks out air borne noises like exhaust, engine, and tire.

Only if the noise is coming from vibrating metal. If the noise is airborne, you'll need to use sound isolation techniques (add density with limp materials + ensure the closet is airtight).
