Perfect for on the go or even a great gift for men!
I know a lot of people seem to have problems with this brush as the nylon bristles are longer than the boar bristles, and people seem to think that they are sharp, but as long as you aren't rough, this isn't a problem at all. I personally love the brush, and think this brush does a wonderful job especially for those with short hair or those on the go. The Marilyn Downtown is perfect for fitting in your purse for on the go. I think as long as you are gentle this brush is wonderful, I like the nylon bristles as they actually get through your hair vs the brushes that just have the boar and often only get the surface depending on the brush. The quality of this brush is really nice, the wood is beautiful, and for those of you who have longer hair or want a brush for home, order the Marilyn Uptown brush, as its the largest of the three.

High quality little travel brush
Love this little boar hair brush! I have long, natural, no-poo method greying hair. I changed to boar hair brushes awhile back but didn't have one for travel. This little brush fits the bill perfectly. Very lightweight, well designed and takes up little space in my travel bag. I have not had the trouble with bristle loss others have mentioned. For those who are new to natural bristle brushes a hint: these brushes take some time to "break in" I think of it like seasoning a nice cast iron skillet. As you use these brushes, your natural hair oils will work into the brush and you will never have trouble again with static, will see less frizziness and notice a beautiful shine.

Holy grail-brush of my life
I have owned this brush for five years and use it twice a day (on dry hair only!) to massage my scalp and redistribute natural oils down the hair shaft to prevent oily roots. My hair is long (past my shoulder blades), average fullness, and fine and straight in texture. This brush is probably the #1 reason why my hair is so long and healthy. It keeps my scalp from getting oily by moving the natural oils down the hair shaft, which keeps my ends healthy too. It also creates amazing fullness, softness, and reduces flyaways. My hair is always full and bouncy after I use this brush and it seems styled even if I only air dried it to begin with. I also use it to brush my hair back into a ponytail as it really calms down flyaways even without hairspray or styling product. I brush twice a day (dry hair only!) in small sections (which is why I love the smaller “downtown” size) and I only have to shampoo every 4 days, if I use dry shampoo on day 2 I can go 6 days. As soon as I take a break from using this brush my hair goes right back to being oily and needing to wash more often. I don’t use on wet hair bc it’s not a great detangler (I use a wood brush or comb for wet hair). I got my first brush by working in the beauty industry so when I went to buy a second one (for travel) I wasn’t sure how much they would cost. I was actually shocked (and relieved!) that they’re only $20! The brush I’ve had for 5 years looks exactly the same as my new one. It’s never lost a bristle and looks literally perfect after removing the hair and giving it a quick bath in a sink with warm water and baby shampoo. It’s my holy grail hair tool/product. If you want to shampoo less often, grow your hair out, keep long hair healthy, I strongly recommend this brush!!

Not for fine/thin hair
This is a cute, lightweight brush. However, as you can see from the photo, the boar bristles are about 1 cm long, and the synthetic bristles are 2cm long: if you have fine or thin hair, the boar bristles will not touch the hair on your scalp. The whole point of a boar bristle bruah is to redistribute oil from roots to ends, but the synthetic bristles are so long that the boar bristles can't even touch the roots.I might try to trim the synthetic bristles on my own but this might create jagged edges which will damage my hair?? IdkProbably great for those with really voluminous hair :/ not for me.

LONG HARSH PLASTIC BRISTLES
DO NOT BUY!!! I will be returning!!! This was such a disappointing unboxing thinking that I bought a Maison Pearson dupe but instead I’ve got a piece of crap!!! The handle is VERY SHORT!!!

The BEST!
Best brush I’ve ever owned! My hair dresser uses the more expensive version of this brush I think he said it’s $130 😳 He told me to try this one because in his words it’s exactly the same. He was right, Detangles without the damage and leaves hair feeling soft and silky. Won’t ever go without it!
