Great results three weeks in!
I chose this brand over others because I liked the fact that the only ingredient listed is "Wild Alaskan salmon oil" (other brands listed preservatives and/or fillers) and because of the large 32 oz bottle available. I have two 60+ pound girls (Husky and chocolate Lab) and estimate this bottle will last about 6 weeks. The oil is a clear amber color, and the "fishy" smell is there but is not overpowering. The pump works great, even when the oil gets thicker because of refrigeration, and it only drips one or two drops when I forget to clean the nozzle after use.I bought this as a preventative for any joint issues (both are young, neither has joint issues and I want to keep it that way) and because my Lab girl had a LOT of dandruff on her back and was very itchy/licking her paws constantly. (despite eating healthy grain-free foods, and regular Oatmeal baths). Vet visits would calm things down but after her vet pills ran out, the symptoms would start up again. I started to do some research and came across people who got good results with pure salmon oil and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did!I started putting the oil in their food twice daily (started out with half the recommended dose for the first two days as a precaution) and both of them loved the flavor! Even my Husky girl, who is VERY selective about what she will eat. Two weeks in, I started to see an improvement on her "itchy levels", less dandruff, and she slept more peacefully. By the third week she barely has any dandruff and the itchiness is almost gone! I am confident that with continued daily use as part of her health regimen, she will be out of the woods soon. As an added bonus, both of them are so shiny and soft, even more so than before! I am convinced that this oil was a big part of her improvement and both girls will be getting this supplement for the rest of their lives.

It Really Works!
My 10 year old lab mix, Cody, was diagnosed a little over a year ago with some kind of arthritis/pain in his lower back/hindquarters. He was so miserable- some days he could not even get up off of his bed in the mornings. His vet put him on carprofen and gabapentin, and it fixed him right up- he felt great again. But the vet said we needed to try to get him on a lower dose (or off of it completely) so it wouldn't damage his liver. Every time I would try to lower or skip a dose, he would be in pain again- unable to get up off of his bed. :( When I read about this Salmon Oil, I thought it *might* help him...and my other dog, a 10 year old beagle mix, was starting to kind of limp a little bit now and then, and was going up and down stairs a little bit slower, so I thought it might help him, too. I thought, "Well, it's kind of expensive, but if it helps...." So I ordered the big 32 oz. bottle. It arrived Feb. 1, and I started giving it to all three of my dogs that very night. I knew it wouldn't work overnight, or even in a week. I decided to give it about a month. This kind of stuff takes time to kind of get into the body and start working. Finally, after about 5 weeks, I skipped giving Cody his pain meds (carprofen) one night. He was FINE the next day. And the next, and the next!! He has not had a pain pill since March 8! I d/c'ed the gabapentin shortly after that, and he has not had any problems whatsoever. He is happy and runs around easily, and is pain-free. I am SO happy! The beagle mix seems to be feeling better, too. He did not have the severe problems that Cody did, but he seems to get around more easily than he did. I have not seen him get up slowly after lying down for awhile, and then walk slowly for a few paces until he kind of warms up- I haven't been seeing him do that anymore. :)I dose them according to the label on the bottle. I mix it into their dry food at night, and they love it. Cody sees me get it out of the fridge and he starts barking for it- he knows why he feels better! The big 32 oz. bottle lasted us (3 dogs) about 7 weeks. So the price of the oil, $34.95, divided by three dogs and seven weeks, comes down to about $1.66 per week, per dog. That's not much for good health, and seeing them feel better is priceless. :) And the meds were more expensive than that, and were hard on his liver! So I am really happy about my decision to try this Salmon Oil- and I just ordered another big bottle last week. I don't want to be without this stuff- it really works for us! This is a real review. I didn't get anything for it- I'm just thrilled that it works!

It's been great for my eleven year old poodle
Adding this to her food, promotes her health with omega 3. It also contributes to her coat health and the quality of her poops.

Seems to be working
Our five-year-old dog began exhibiting itchy allergy symptoms earlier this year. We began special shampoo, spray, diet, and medication provided by our vet. After several weeks of this routine, she showed some improvement, but we were hoping not to have to medicate her forever. After discussing other options with the vet, I asked about adding fish oil to her diet. The vet was enthusiastic about this idea, and after researching several options, we chose Pure Paw. We have been adding this to her food once a day for about a month now. It's still early in the process, but we believe we have seen improvement in her symptoms that can be directly traced to the fish oil. We have been able to wean her down to one allergy allergy pill a week, and we hope to be able to drop the medication completely soon. The final test will come early next year during the season that her symptoms started this year. She loves the taste, and has since the first time we offered it in her food. She tolerates it very well, and has not exhibited any of the digestive upsets our vet warned us to look for. Her coat seems to be more shiny, and not as "wild." As an additional bonus, the pump bottle makes it easy to measure the correct amount to give her without pouring, measuring, and probably spilling, each time. I have given only four stars right now because it is still early, and I want to observe her a little longer. I will be happy to upgrade to the full five stars in a couple of months if she is still benefiting from it by then.
