Q: Can you grow this I a pot ?

It would ideally have to go in the ground, however I suppose you could grow it in a very large pot in well composted soil

Q: How do you know which way to plant it. no instructions. plant just arrived today. is very musty not very firm. no clue

Just pop it in the ground (not to deep) it will find its own when growing, bit late now, you won’t get any yield off it this year I suspect, next year will be good, it’s the best as well
