Best thing to come along since Band Aids!
I originally purchased Tegaderm at Walgreens to put over a medication patch that could not be covered, but, had to be worn for 3 days and was constantly starting to come off by the end of day 2. My doctor told me about Tegaderm . Walgreens sold the product in both name brand and generic, however both were very high in price so I decided to see if I could find it on Amazon. Unlike Walgreens, I found this marvelous big roll, and then ... I started finding all sorts of different uses for Tegaderm .My household now uses Tegaderm dressing for so many things, and this roll size is the best! As Tegaderm is breathable, yet waterproof, it is the perfect wound care product. It can be put over gauze to keep a dressing dry and clean for up to 3 days (maybe more but that is the longest I have personally left any on myself) without damaging your skin one bit. It can be put directly over minor cuts and scrapes with a little antibiotic cream on the actual wound to keep the sticky part from catching on the sensitive area while it heals. The transparent covering allows you see as the skin heals, letting you know when it is time to remove or change the bandage. It can be put on tattoos to keep them dry while still allowing them to breath. It's perfect for that pesky papercut that just need a day or two to heal. When you can't find a bandaid to either fit the awkward place needed, or .... you can't get a bandaid to stay. Perfect for covering up stitches too, just put some antibiotic ointment and gauze over the stitched up area and cover with Tegaderm and shower, swim ... get as wet as you want!I recently had an allergic reaction to Poison Ivy on the front of my leg and made a salve using baking soda, honey, and Extra Virgin Olive oil. I was able to apply a liberal coat to the entire rash on my lower leg and cover it all with Tegaderm overnight! The relief I experienced he next morning was absolutely wonderful. My oldest daughter was waiting tables when she got a tattoo on her wrist and used it to protect her tattoo from germs and spills in the kitchen area, she just applied a liberal amount of tattoo salve on the tattoo and placed the Tegaderm directly on top.***** Be sure to clean the skin surrounding area that needs to be covered, wound, burn, tattoo, medical patch, stitches, etc ... with rubbing alcohol. Insure that any wound has protection from the Tegaderm, such as a gauze cover, or a liberal amount of ointment or lotion so that when it is time to remove the Tegaderm it does not pull or tug at anything that might hurt or cause injury. Peel of backing of off and place flat against the skin. Apply moderate pressure for approx 30 seconds with your hand. The Tegaderm will bond best when it gets warm. If you do these things properly, when you take the top pieces off, the Tegaderm will be so *****

Best Waterproof Medical Dressing for Multiple Uses
I was paying so much money for Tegaderm patches and had to use 2 to cover my pain patch. Once I found this roll of dressing that you could cut to size, it was a miracle. I was paying $10.00 at the store for 8 patches, and like I said having to use 2. Now I have this large roll that will last forever at the best price. You can also use it on any kind of wound to keep out the dirt. This product is way better then any band-aid. Any band-aid that says it is water proof is a joke. This product is water proof. I can take a shower as soon as I put it over my patch, so if you have a wound of any kind and have gauze on it, or just need to keep water off it..... Put this on and it will not come off at all. You can swim with this tape on. Anything to do with water, this product will keep it out and whatever you have underneath dry and protected. It's just like the stuff they put over your IV when your in the hospital.

Great for Healing Tattoos!
I’ve tried a few different tattoo films (saniderm, CVS brand waterproof bandage, and second skin) and this is probably my favorite one so far. Its nice and thin, and once the soreness and swelling goes down, you kind of forget it’s even on you. I have left this bandage on for up to 5 days, and it stayed perfectly adhered and protected the tattoo very well. There are a few tricks to get good results with this type of bandage.First, the skin around the tattoo needs to be good and clean, and dry. I like to wipe the area around the tattoo with rubbing alcohol to help with adhesion.Second, work with smaller pieces. I usually cut a strip and put it on one half of the tattoo, or down the middle, depending on size and location. It’s much easier to patch on several smaller pieces than applying one large piece over the entire tattoo.Third, trim all corners round! If you leave sharp corners anywhere, it is very likely they’ll get peeled up and stick to clothes or whatever and could compromise the bandage. If you clean everything really well and avoid wrinkles, you shouldn’t have any leaks. Also make sure to have at least an inch or more of the bandage sticking out around the entire tattoo. It will likely fill with plasma and ink, and could eventually leak if you don’t have enough overhang.I only use this type of bandage to heal all of my tattoos now, and it is by far the easiest and least painful/irritating way I have found. I would definitely pick up a roll of this stuff if you plan on getting tattooed in the future.

Hypoallergenic, not strong on sweat/water, long term leaves stubborn black residue
I'm allergic to adhesive, but this works well for me. Works MUCH better than the Nexcare products.I can leave it on for a week in areas that don't move a lot without a reaction. Note that wearing it for this long does leave a black sticky residue that is a bit stubborn to remove. In areas that do move a lot (e.g. fingers), it only lasts a day or two, tops.In terms of water resistance, it's pretty good, but not "proof" by any means. If a corner has started to curl or roll up, the water is just going to get underneath and exacerbate the curl.In high sweat areas, like the palm or side of the hand, forget about it. It's not going to stick for even an hour.It also doesn't seem to hold up well against light or heat; Having some on the back of my hand or wrist and mowing the lawn in 76 degree weather (F) caused it to lift right off my skin. This could be because of sweat, though.
