Great game and well thought out design! Great value
The media could not be loaded. We love this game! Was worried because of some poor reviews but I soon learned that it matters where you put the lefty and righty players... Hint: look at the pictures on the box...righties on the outside in the offensive zone... This will keep you from making the same mistake as the writers of the bad reviews. And the plastic boards on the goal ends have to be pulled on until they click, and if you do this correctly, you will not run into any problems with the player going behind the net (which really is a brilliant idea). For the price, this is a great game and much better than expected! Highly recommend!

Decent quality. Has lasted for six months.
I bought this for my kids with the anticipation of it breaking very early on. To my surprise we have had it for about six moths now and it is still intact. Okay quality. The rods don’t really glide or turn very smoothly. This was expected as most of these table games are that way. Good fun. Would recommend.

Oh wow this is awful
I grew up playing a million hours on the Stiga table hockey, which isn't perfect, but it's quite good. So with that in mind, here is why this Franklin game should not be purchased. In short, it is unplayable. Spend the extra $40 and buy the Stiga.1. The sticks on some of the guys go over the puck2. The ice is poorly made, and the puck gets caught on the groove3. For that matter, the puck is too square on its edges4. The gears turn backwards from all other table hockey games. If you have played on other sets, this one will feel 'off' as you constantly spin the players the wrong way5. The goalie rod is on the right side; might just be my opinion, but it takes away your strong hand from using the players. Stiga's goalie is on the left which seems more intuitive for rightys.6. There are dead zones in the corners that cannot be reached7. The back foot of the players sometimes touches the puck when spinning8. Not a playability issue, but the players' knees are painted skin-color. Seriously? In the age of internet searches on our phones, someone okayed the production of thousands of table hockey games with players with exposed knees. Just. No.9. The whole game just feels off. Barely playable.

Son loves this
I gave this to my 9 year old son for Christmas after he mentioned that he wanted one and he loves it. The rods seem a little flimsy because they are thin but they have held up well considering he is rough on toys. It was easy to assemble and has suction cups that hold it onto a table very well. We have not had any issues with the players not being able to reach the puck...overall it is a great product for the price.

Design flaws become apparent after a week or so
Our initial order had to be replaced because it came slightly damaged. When the replacement arrived, it seemed flawless and we enjoyed the game that evening. Very quickly, however, within hours certain design flaws became apparent.FLAWS:1. A number of players did not sit low enough on the gear to be able to reach the puck. In fact, their hockey stick would hover over the puck in certain places, causing them to miss important hits repeatedly. I had to solve it by wrapping masking tape over their sticks (like we did with real sticks in childhood), which kinda solved the issue. If you are keeping the product, I would actually suggest that you do that2. The plastic shields on the back of the field do not rise high enough. The players that move behind the goal always hit the shields with their heads. This not only impedes their movements but also puts extra wear and tear on the gears that the rods control. The gears are plastic, so you know what will happen after a few hundred spin-throughs: the gear will wear out.3. The material from which the actual hockey field is made is really cheap. Due to the large incision made for the player to move behind the goal, a large piece of the field began to sag just after 1 week of playing. This resulted in the puck constantly getting stuck in the incision. That, again, impedes the natural movement of the puck, slowing puck control and hits. The game can still be played with all these, but there is a level of frustration that spoils its enjoyment. All of these are design flaws. I would go with a more expensive brand.

A great game for the whole family.
This is the second one I purchased. This one is for my grandson who really likes to play on the one I own for myself. I know he will have a great time with it. It is well made, sturdy and will last many years. It a lot more fun than air hockey. I recommend this game to any hockey fan.
