This is what I expected. Nothing more, nothing less, however...I wish there was just a bit more usable space vertically. All I have is a Behringer X-18 and a conditioner and it doesn't need to be as tight as it is given the sq. inches of the interior. Hence the 4 *'s. But I'm happy and Gator is a good product.

Bought this to house my band’s in ear monitor rig (mixer, wireless transmitters, mic splitter). What I like about this 4U size is that it’s compact but will still stand up on end without tipping over.I have it set up so one cover of the case stays on at all times and serves as the base that sits on the floor. We roll into gigs, set that one cover end on the floor, then take the other cover off and that end of the case (front panels of the rackmount units) points towards the ceiling.

It has my karaoke equipment inside all wired up. It protect my equipment when transporting. It might not protect my equipment from heavy handed road crews but it works great for me .

Wow....beware fellow buyers. The way that the screw plates are attached to the rail is with pathetic double sided tape....saving them a bundle on production costs but makes racking and unpacking gear a nightmare and a puzzle. Do you like doing stupid puzzles under the pressure of a gig when you’re moving some gear around? I don’t. It’s near impossible to mount a full sized unit into one of these cases because you can’t get your hand back there to hold the backer plate in place to get the screws started. I was dumbfounded when I received mine and immediately returned it.

This was a costly mistake for me not reading the specs very carefully, nearly everyone would assume a 14 inch deep rack is 14 inches. I bought custom made shelves and equipment that will not work with this rack. I don’t know what they were thinking putting this spec so prominently in the description. It’s a nice unit but I’m giving it 3 stars and should be 2 for this deceiving product description. It really makes me mad and will cost me weeks to send everything back and start over…

Great build and super durable! Been on several gigs with me and its performed as I have hoped. Super lightweight and strong clasps with covers that come on and off easily. Will be buying other sizes as I expand my gear.
