Awesome portable LED light for photography and video!!!
I had been toying with the idea of buying some new lighting to change things up with some of my photos. After looking at the Icelight by Wescott, I decided that I was not ready to spend $$ on something that I wasn't entirely sure that I would end up using. I already have some Yongnuo wireless flash triggers and a Yongnuo speedlite and have been pleased with them so far, so I decided to take a chance and buy the YN360 light wand.Thank you Amazon Prime! It arrived the following day and I excitedly unpacked the YN360. It arrived in a nicely designed box with a soft black carrying case with a strap. and I was immediately impressed with how solid it felt. I expected it to be pretty lightweight and perhaps even a little flimsy, but it was not at all. One note to keep in mind is that the YN360 does not ship with a power source (no battery, no plug). It accepts standard Sony NP-FXXX style batteries which can be ordered cheaply on Amazon. I ended buying two DSTE brand batteries that have worked perfectly with the YN360 so far. There is a threaded opening on the bottom of the light so that you can mount it on a stand (which I have not tried yet).In terms of performance, once I slipped the battery on, the YN360 was pretty darn cool. The white light was surprisingly bright and highly adjustable with the use of a small knob. Then when I switched it over to RGB color, I was immediately mesmerized by the colors. The first thing I used the light for was to do some macro photography of a caterpillar. I was pretty impressed with the light and I had fun moving it around and testing out what I could do with it. The YN360 is very portable and I end up taking it with me whenever I go to a shoot, just in case I want to add a little extra something. Then once day last week I got asked to go help out on a small video project and I took it with me just in case. I ended up doing a mini photoshoot when I got there. We were in a tiny office and it was getting dark outside. I decided to use the colored light from the YN360 as my only light source and the artist was very happy with the results. So far the YN360 has been pretty amazing. No performance issues whatsoever. I plan on buying 2 more shortly so that I can get even more creative with my photoshoots.

Any combonation of the YN360 and YN300 air makes for a spectacular portable light kit with lots of creative control.
This light is really amazing for the price. It's clean and beautiful light in nearly any conditions and is battery operated. Couple this with the YN300 air for a nice portable light kit. Both use the same batteries and have identical color temperature control. One note: I did have a difficult time downloading the app for android. The site was down for nearly a week. Once downloaded my android device refuses to pair with it (ipad worked fine though). This device is paired with bluetooth devices daily without issue. Having control of the lights from behind the camera is one of the main reasons we got these small lights. I'll try again with another android phone.Quality is as expected for the price. It's not the most robust build quality, but should hold up under careful guerilla shoots.Image quality with these lights is very nice. Better than expected. Color cast seems neutral for daylight and incandescent respectively. Having fine control of dimmer and color temp or even RGB makes for a very nice experience. It just works.Overall opinion: You could certainly buy a higher quality portable light rig, but you'll certainly pay for it. This is THE best and least expensive set I've ever owned and I've bought plenty through the years. Buy it... get a couple of NP-F970 batteries and work all day. Much better than battery belts and the old MR16 bulbs with gels. With my Sony A7s and a6300 and one of the Yongnuo yn360 and two YN300 Air units I have a highly flexible and great quality studio light package in a backpack. That's good enough for me!

Great Lights
I first want to start off by saying, that these lights are very bright lights at max power. I ordered 2 of these lights and the fact that you can control them together or separately is a great feature although it was a little cumbersome in figuring out how to do so just read and reread the instructions a couple of times and they eventually made sense. Also, It was kind of annoying that these lights did not come with batteries which were super annoying. But I guess that's how the price of these are so great! The batteries I got work well and last a couple of hours but over a couple of hours, they slowly lose their max brightness so make sure if you are using batteries to have spare batteries fully charged ready to be swapped. I guess buying a power cord to run them off an outlet. would be the way to go but that is yet another thing you would have to buy. I have not purchased a power brick to have them run off an outlet but I am sure it would run similarly, and so far after running it for a couple of hours they got a little warm but nothing got hot which is a plus! Overall I would recommend but it's just a shame they don't come with power adapters or batteries.
