My Forever Tent - Excellent Multipurpose Tent
Vail 4: Purchased in 2023, so my review is now based on several years of use. I chose this tent because the pitch video showed that the way it went up could, at a push, be done by a single adult in wind - as you peg down the 4 corners first before doing anything else. This was important to me as a single parent with child. The first time I pitched this tent was in high winds/rain on the Isle of Skye in Summer 2024. Although weather-problematic and I had to refer to the video a few times (in same weather), it took it's longest to raise the first time of doing it (probably over an hour ish). After two weeks of high winds or rain travelling across the Hebrides and northern Scotland, I got the solo pitching time down to less than 20 mins. I will say that as an historical reenactor normally pitching canvas tents with heavy iron tent pegs ... I took these iron pegs and some storm pegs to Scotland with me and ONLY used those pegs - the ones that came with the tent were about as much use as a fart in the wind. The bag that the tent came in was poorly made and I now use something else. Although these are negatives, they are minor, irrelevant and easy to remedy compared to the amount of occasions I use this tent and it has been brilliant. Pitched on the seashore on the Isle of Lewis and Harris in high 45mph winds it took the brunt of the weather with ease (although not much sleep due to the noise of the wind). We could happily and comfortably sit inside the tent in our chairs and admire the view, still cook inside (with ventilation) without tripping over each other, and then have a separate bedroom compartment. Nice and roomy for 2 ppl with the inner bedroom blackout tent up, fits 3 camp beds comfortably without the inner (1 double, 1 single). I would say it becomes cramped for 4 with campbeds, but probably roomier with floor mats. I have also pitched this tent in heavy rain on slightly boggy ground on my own, and while it takes longer on your own, it's easily achievable. I have solo camped in this tent as well which is luxuriously roomy, but advantageous if the weather is bad because you can stand tall (I'm 5ft 1). No leaks at all, however you will need to make sure the zips for the horizontal part of the door are aligned to avoid if rain beats on the front door, it doesn't drip over the lip of the base of the door. Barring any damage, this will be my forever modern tent going forward, as I know I can trust it in the most atrocious of weather, but I recommend investing in heavy duty/storm pegs and a better, slightly bigger carry bag.

Great tent
Absolutely loved this 6 Man tentPros:Very spacious.Ability to make 3 sleeping compartments or one giant seeping room.Blocks the UV from the sun- (after 5/6 hours did need to apply suncream though)Water resistantGood airflowHas a front door and a side doorHas loads of peg strings to make sure it’s very sturdy from the windHas vents to allow airflowHas hanging points for lanterns or lightsHas a front porch area, with a raised zipper off the ground, which I found kept bugs out wellConsTook nearly an hour with 2 people, to put up.Had to refer to the video on this product page to figure it out.Very very heavy, although we used a trolley to transport itHard to get the tent to fit back in the bag after use.The zips kept getting stuck on the fabric flap above it, so it made it a nuisance to get in and out.And the use of dual zips made it impossible to lock the tent with a padlock, which during a music festival in the uk, is not a great idea.Overall was very happy with it, plenty of room, felt very sturdy and secure, loads of pegs and room for lighting and airflow, but a pain to get it back in the bag, and zips were a nightmare sometimes.

Really impressed at the quality and packaging these tents arrive in.I had to sadly send this one back as I didn't realize the size of it.. but bought another coleman tent to replace. Return was easy and excellent tents.

Impressive
The tent was easy to assemble and once up looked the part. Plenty of head room and the area outside of the rooms proved really handy. Please remember if you are adding putmeup beds they cannot fit in the shown setup in the directions as the beds are longer and you need to join two rooms to accommodate the beds so a 6 berth tent ended up as a 4 berth.

Separation panel is a bit pants
The media could not be loaded. Overall this is a good tent for the price. Easy to erect and is spacious and pretty well made. The only issue is the panel which separates the two half’s of the inner tent. We really thought it would be a fitted or at least more attached panel, with zips or Velcro… actually there are big gaps, so not as private as we’d hoped.

Damaged
Received our tent and loved it, until we put it up. One of the main metal rings to secure the tent to the ground was damaged. It came insecure as soon as we pitched the tent. We had to run around asking for help in how to secure the tent. With a family in tow, we thought we’d have to go home.

Spacious
The Coleman Vail 6 Person Tent as a must for space. The large sleeping and living rooms are definitely worth the little bit extra on the price you pay from the 4 Person tent. The sleeping area can be one big space,or put up the partitions and turn it into a 3 bedroom with the ends being a generous singles and a large double in the middle. I'm a big lad and slept with comfort and space on the end and the blackout bedrooms do make a big difference.
