Math Made Easy: A quick and easy guide to mental math and faster calculation Paperback – January 24, 2016

I love the intro of this book....what is that couple in the restaurant gonna do without their trusty iphone calculator to figure out how much to tip?!?! Situations like this make me thankful for my math skills, but also somewhat worried about the future of humanity....I'm glad these authors are working towards improving that!I'm pretty good at Math (I've been teaching SAT Math for a few years) so the first part of the e-book, "The Basics" wasn't that helpful for me. I also knew some of the tricks that the authors included. Even so, I learned some cool new techniques that I didn't know and I thought the book was well-written and engaging. It's not ground-breaking stuff, but it's a fun style and useful for pretty much anyone's day-to-day, ESPECIALLY if you have a hard time with mental math. You can fix that now!

As a finance major in college, one would think that I would be good at mental math. Quite the contrary. I bought this book because I'm currently studying for the GMAT and I've come to realize that mental math and approximation is a major improvement opportunity for me. I really recommend this book not only to people studying for the SAT/ GMAT but also to people who never quite got the hang of quick math and want to get better at it. This book is clearly written and informative, using great tips and practical examples that can be applied elsewhere. Highly recommended!

This came highly recommended to me and I'd like to pass on that recommendation to others. I wish I had this book when I was in school.Clever and easy to understand techniques. I am buying a copy for my son in college. Worth every penny!

Sorry this is not what I was looking for. There are few fast tricks in this one like some others. And there are a lot of missing examples too. Not the speed tricks found elsewhere. It is good for following the more rigid rules of regular math. I was expecting more. I already came up with many of these myself over the years.

As a law student, I don't keep a calculator handy while doing work. Therefore, mental math is extremely important when I need to do a calculation to understand the facts of a case. Math Made Easy has been an invaluable resource for those instances. By devoting small chunks of time spread out over a few days, I was able to rapidly increase my mental math ability. I was especially impressed by the way the topics were ordered, as they neatly build upon one another to effectively scaffold your knowledge.

This book is filled with tips that will really help you improve your mental math skills. It includes basic topics as well as more advanced tips to help you quickly solve math problems in your head or at the least guesstimate the right answer very quickly.I'm sure not all of these tips are new but I found the book to be clearly laid out and a good resource for anybody trying to improve their math skills for a standardized test or just daily life.
