Bought this just before Xmas and I was so in love with it. About a month later it started shedding and I went online to see what I could do about it. I saw mention of keeping the air in your home humid and shaking it out every week, lightly vacuum in the direction of the furs growth, even putting it outside now and then for the air. I have done all of these things and finally just had to put it outside permanently because every corner of my home seemed to have a pile of fur. I’m so sad about this because when it arrived it was gorgeous. And just to be clear, I would be comfortable with maintaining the rug with proper care but I’m afraid this just goes beyond. All of my clothes seemed to be covered hairs. I hope the seller will reply and let me know if there is something I can do. I don’t enjoy giving bad reviews but I had to be honest.

Absolutely beautiful and huge! Much bigger than one we bought at a renaissance fair for the same price! But this one sheds! Got it at Christmas and it’s nearly bald 6 months later! Every day from the day we received it this beast had shed buckets! It has become a joke in our house. Our roomba vacuum is filled entirely with reindeer hair every day. So disappointed. The renaissance fair one, by contrast, is intact and has not shed a bit. Something is wrong with this company.

I ordered my reindeer pelt a year ago. It became immediately clear that the course hairs shed quite easilly, even without regular use: it was intended to be a decorative piece. The shedding became so bad I had to shake it out daily. I had hoped that over time it would stop shedding but alas a year later it has only become WORSE. To the extent that I wager something is intrinsically wrong with the product itself. I presently have it in storage as it has continuously generated a daily mess I am no longer willing to tend to. A major disappointment & waste of nearly $200 which I hope to reclaim as this product should not have been sold in the first place.
