Works seamlessly
Connected OM4 fiber pair and patch cord to two of these to extend a connection roughly 400 feet, and they worked on the first try. Hassle-free packaging, super simple, and easy to setup. Has two mounting screw holes in back, so I was able to mount to plywood board on wall together with other devices. Even the power supply is sideways, so it doesn't block other outlets on a plug strip.

Works well
I have 2 of these at one customer site delivering microwave signal over OM3 MM. No problems at all. They work great with the included OEM SFP, or using a "universal" SFP. One unit is in an equipment room at about 85F, the other one in an outdoor enclosure that runs from 32F to 120F. No issues so far (10 mos.)

Great Media Convertor
Nice and easy media convertor. Worked well with Cisco and Nokia SFPs. Also works with the knock off FS.com SFPs. Will be my go to for an economical MC.

Died with the year.
Picked up June 11, 2022. Worked flawlessly until it died in March of 2023. Device was on a UPS so no surge. Neither Ethernet or fiber are showing a connection even though when I plug the same Ethernet directly into the switch it works. Replace the SFP modules on both ends and the fiber. Same behavior.UPDATE: Contacted StarTech. Explained the troubleshooting I did. They shipped me a new unit within 3 days. No swap out, just a new unit. That was the fastest, easiest customer support I've ever had. Up and running again.

Flawless
I connected this directly to the fiber provided by the ISP. I turned it on, connected the fiber to one end and a patch cord on the other end and I had an instant connection. Plug and play.

Works great as optical isolator
Can be used to create an optically isolated bridge between two points when used with an optical fibre (direct attach cables will not be well isolated, power supply has to be isolated as well). Works well at line rate.

Ran about 300 foot of fiber optic cable with one of these at each end. Worked perfectly out of the box without having to make any changes to the unit itself. Only note that I would tell you is to be sure and use a gigabit switch as other posters have said.

Reliable, no brainer, network extension method.
I have used several of these for remote devices that are well beyond 328 feet and needed a solid cable connection. If you are looking for a cost effective mm fiber to copper converter, these are it.
