Small and useful
Very useful with small PCBs for rework (at least how I am using it). Is also useful for larger PCBs but you'll have to rig up something to hold the board up.

Firmware update required to avoid "No Hot Plate" error
Out of the box, the "No Hot Plate" error was shown on the display after partially heating to the target temperature. The FAQ section of the manual for this error says to check if the hot plate is installed correctly and if the power cable is loose or defective. After checking both of these things, the "No Hot Plate" error continued to be displayed. In the Service section of the manual, it mentions how to perform a firmware upgrade. After performing this firmware upgrade, the error was no longer displayed and the plate was able to heat up to the target temperature.

Mine failed at 4 months
Bought this through Amazon. Got it, it works fine but reco buying from another vendor. Mine died after 6 uses (4 months) and I have not been able to get any info about warranty or repair or replacement from YKEY. Sain Smart claims 1 yr warranty (have not used that) ADAFruit is cheaper. Since customer support is important, I rate this vendor 0 stars. I have asked questions and sent emails thru the Amazon Store. Nothing but Crickets. DO NOT BUY FROM YKEY!!!

Excellent tool works perfectly.
Works quickly, easily controlled. Great for re-flow, dismantling and new pcb with paste. Buy two so it will be possible to move parts from one to the other. Highly recommended!

Newest version does not support IronOS
The product as it stands is great on it's own. It has three modes that can act as a solder profile to more efficiently solder your parts. However this newest version does not have IronOS support yet, so you are limited to the included firmware. There are rumblings that maybe you can flash and swap an STM32, but for $125 it's a risky venture. For now, I'll keep using it until IronOS maybe supports it down the line.

I think it will be useful.
It works. It's cute. It heated my pcb until the solder flowed. I had 2 problems, however. The first was that it wouldn't heat up until I disabled the tip-over detection feature. Apparently, the accelerometer is either malfunctioning or it needs to be re-calibrated. It gets 3 star review for this. The other problem is that it may have killed the first 3 boards I tried to re-work on it. But, that was probably my fault. Maybe I let them cool off too fast and thermal shock killed them. Or maybe there was too much thermal gradient across the board because I could only get a 1/4 of it on the hot plate. I was able to rework the next 6 boards successfully using a hot-air gun. This had no effect on the star rating because it was probably not the fault of the hot plate.
