I departed from the usual brand of smoker I've use for 40 yrs. but after the first use, I think this one may be better than what I've used in the past. The grate area is larger than I expected. The barrel compartment holds the heat at a consistent temperature and far better than my last smoker. I noticed during the initial heat tempering it held a consistent temp.On my first use I used less charcoal to get to and maintain the desired temp. Steaks turned out perfect with less oversight and management, I think due to the steady temp. I do a lot of grilling. I don't know yet about the long term function of this brand or this particular model but after first use I'm very pleased with the purchase of this smoker.Update : 2nd use .... very pleased with this smoker. It holds a consistent temp level for extended periods of time without the need to monitor the amount of wood or charcoal.Update : After grilling steaks, chicken, 'burgers, and smoking a 17 lb brisket, I'm still amazed at how this smoker holds a consistent temp. I don't know if it's the brand, the particular model, or I just got lucky and this one fits together better than most, but it does a great job. I can't say for others but for me, price and performance make this a bargain.

I have hosted many cookouts and put the smoker through the ringer. It's still durable, cleans up perfect, and is always ready to hold the perfect temp and steady smoke flow. The design that it has the offset smoker is amazing and for the money spot on You get more than what you pay for

I'm going to be honest here. This thing was a b**** to put together. Not only did I almost break my finger because putting the top part on is ridiculous but after it was all put together, it barely holds in the heat. Spend the extra $100 on a different brand. That's the same size and everything because this is not worth it. It is cheap quality and after one rain pieces of it already were bent. Even though we bought a separate cover. The design is poor.

Kind of light for the price

I bought this grill for two reasons. First, I needed to keep costs down while getting the best quality product. And lastly, I needed a unit with a large cooking surface area. And thankfully, this grill delivered both! I was able to cook two 15 pound briskets at the same time, and they turned out beautifully! Wood logs seemed to work best for temp control. I did have to seal up areas where the smoke leaks around the smoke stack and lid. And I wish the vent for the firebox was located higher. Otherwise you’ll have to make sure the coals/wood doesn’t block the air flow. But overall, in my opinion, this is a winner! Definitely glad I made the purchase!
