Peaky Blinders: Season Two

Started watching this after Taboo ended and glad I did...another great period piece from Stephen Knight (creator/writer)...lots of great music, exceptional attention to detail, and a rarely seen era (polar opposite of Downton Abbey). Birmingham is the gritty, dark setting rather than London, but when London is shown be prepared for Tom Hardy to totally steal the show - he is brilliant as usual (wish he was featured more). Cillian Murphy is great, but my favorite character is Arthur Shelby (played by Paul Anderson...definitely one to watch).I intended to slowly watch this but devoured in about a week. Wish Season 3 DVD was available in the States but I was able to get caught up with Netflix so now I'm waiting for BOTH Taboo and Pesky Blinders lol!

Frankly, I delayed a long time before watching my first episode of Peaky Blinders. I anticipated a lot of violence (the gangsters carry razors in their caps). There IS violence, and that may deter some potential viewers. BUT the many strengths of this production make it well worth your time. The plot moves at a fast pace with many twists. Also, if you like series like THE KNICK, which pick you up and set you in another time, make you actually experience that time, you will love Peaky Blinders. The acting is superb. If I have one criticism...and only one...I think the police spy in season one looks a bit to out of place to fool the Blinders. Regardless, the series fully deserves every one of the five stars.

Bought Seasons 1 and 2 for my parents. They loved it and want to see Seasons 3, 4 and 5 too. They need the US format for their DVD player, but I can only find the European format. Help?

This is just one more coup for the Brits. The acting (Cillian Murphy is perfect), sets, story, etc., make a very compelling series. After the second episode in Season 1, I was totally hooked. Now, what I want to know is where the blazes is the DVD for Season 3 for the US? A DVD for Season 3 that will play on a normal DVD player in the United States would be nice thank you very much. Filming for Season 4 is already underway, so for pete's sake, get the DVD for Season 3 to those of us breathlessly waiting its arrival.

I normally don’t care to watch period pieces. This is one of the best shows that I have watched in a very long time. I spent a entire weekend binge watching this along w my boyfriend. Who by the way doesn’t ever binge watch anything. That should give you a idea of how good this show is. I actually ended up watching every season of this show 3 times. I can't wait for seasons 5, 6, & 7. The actors are great!!!! Cillian Murphy was made to play Tommy Shelby. EXCELLANT, EXCELLANT, EXCELLANT!!!!!!! Show.

The series is fantastic. The "only 4 star review" is on Amazon for not giving any info about stocking following seasons. As a customer I want to know any info they can give on availability of subsequent seasons. Other stores have Season 3. Where is Amazon's for range 1??? This holds true for many of the miniseries. Am I missing something?

this is one of my all time favorite shows. the characters will make you like them... the drama will pull you in... a friend who lives in the UK recommended it to me... I bought season one and it sat on my shelf for a while.. once I started watching I was hooked and I am not easily won over... Cillian is extremely strong. he could probably carry the series by himself but the cast does not have a weak link.. the show is simply off the charts good even if you aren't into crime drama .. if I could give it 10 stars I would

We LOVE this show!! Just wish they'd make more episodes than six per season! If you've not seen Peaky Blinders yet, you're missing one of the best ones on TV! Cillian Murphy is perfect as Thomas Shelby. Tom Hardy has a great cameo part in a few of the episodes as well. Sam Neil is in the first two seasons too. But it's Cillian Murphy's blue eyes that pull you in and have you rooting for him even when he's doing something illegal. The Irish version of The Sopranos, if you will.

Le scénario, complexe à souhait, est d'autant plus intéressant qu'il se dessine sur un arrière plan historique très fouillé (les conséquences de la première guerre mondiale sur les hommes et sur l'économie, les "rebelles" irlandais, la politique de Churchill). Tous les personnages sont attachants, admirablement construits et interprétés par des comédiens excellentissimes. Que dire de l'esthétique ( éclairages, ralentis, contre- plongées)? C'est du grand cinéma! Quant au montage, c'est absolument fantastique! On est surpris, emporté, séduit. Les dialogues sont à la mesure des images et des plans: ils sont nets, incisifs et très efficaces.La version française est de grande qualité. Le comédien qui double Tommy a une voix qui ajoute encore au charme sulfureux du comédien anglais Cillian Murphy, dont le jeu sobre, tout en retenue, est tout simplement extraordinaire.On se prend à la fin de la saison 2 à espérer que ce héros ne meure pas...pour qu'il y ait au moins encore une saison 3

I enjoyed the first season so much, I had to immediately order the second. Having spent two nights in a row watching three episodes each, this new season delivers as well as the first did, plus a little more. There's the usual combination of racketeering, violence, romance, and action, with a few nice twists thrown in to almost every episode. The same grimy, sooty atmosphere persists in the Birmingham shots, contrasted nicely with London and country estates showing lots of colour. Tommy's new romantic entanglement gets messed up with Grace showing up again; the expansion into legitimate businesses (and expansion of the illegitimate ones) brings out some new enemies, and Major Campbell reappears in a strong role.I wish there were more than six episodes per season, and now I can't wait for season three!

I gave it Four Stars because the DVD case inside was broken and this was a gift. Season Two continues from Season One and is very good. Hopefully the following seasons are issued soon in a format that can be played in our Region.
