You won't regret this purchase
I'm very impressed with this device. I've cut my own hair for over a decade, and have a couple of Wahl trimmers that are bulletproof. On a recent trip that was unexpectedly extended, I had to buy a trimmer. I bought a cordless Wahl set that was over twice the price of this trimmer even though it was on sale, and was shocked when I got it home... it vibrated and was so noisy that I couldn't stand the thought of using it. Truly a smh moment for a fine American company.I returned that device and looked to see what was available on Amazon. This one seemed to stand out, and the price was unbelievably low. To my delight, it seems to be the excellent value that the other reviews state. The heft is a little bit light and plasticky for my tastes, but you can see good engineering and design decisions throughout. Most of all, it's exceedingly quiet... significantly quieter than my classic Wahls, and quieter than I thought a clipper could be.It cuts well, but I did get more of a sense of hair pulling when trimming my beard than I do with the Wahl. Not sure whether it's the ceramic blade or what, but it's not really alarming or annoying. The chrome ring at the bottom adjusts the depth of cut, and the attachments provide a nice range of cutting depths. The only thing I found problematic was brushing/cleaning the device. To do this you're instructed to remove the cutting head (this is how it's oiled as well). It's a bit awkward in that you have to push against the white ceramic part harder than what is comfortable. I suppose I'll get used to it, but it's one area that could use some refinement. Not that I'm complaining though – for the price, this is a no-brainer and an excellent trimmer. The fact they provide two batteries is simply stunning, since two years is about max for most lithium rechargeables. Here's tip: when you get the device, charge both batteries fully so that the spare has a charge in it. There's nothing worse than to leave a lithium battery discharged fully over time. If you have the discipline, swap batteries every month or three to keep them both alive longer.Simply put: you won't regret this purchase.EDIT AFTER THREE YEARS: It’s still going strong – nothing has broken and it still operates as if it were new. I oil it every few months and swap the battery every 6 months or so just to keep the wear even. A truly amazing device at a truly amazing price… I’m going to buy a second one.EDIT AFTER SIX YEARS: Bought another because I lost the trimming heads during travel (this trimmer is that essential to me after so many years). I forgot about how they include some very good scissors (I prefer my own because they are light and precise, but these are great). It's all black now, but the ceramic (the part that the blade cuts against) seems to be the same great material. They still provide the tiny oil bottle, which you should use a few times a year to open the "head" and gently lubricate the mechanism and clean it out. Honestly, though, you could go for a decade without doing that and it will still work.Sad to see that the new package didn't contain a second battery. Again, not a big deal, unless you're a woolly mammoth (not judging). If you are a wooly mammoth on the swim team, just charge it once every season and you'll be fine. Off-season, enjoy the wool.Or change sports to wrestling.

Great clippers
These have worked great for me so far. I am only a couple of haircuts in, so I can't speak to durability or longevity of the clippers, but so far so good.I had been using a corded, mid price, Wahl clipper set. It was good and better than some others I'd had. This is my first cordless clipper, and I love not having to be plugged in. Also, these are quieter, lighter, and have far less vibration than my corded ones. So far seem plenty sharp and no snagging, etc. Scissors included are a nice touch and do a good job. I cut my hair pretty short so I haven't used any of the included guides yet, but they seem to be easy on and off. It took me a bit of messing around to figure out how to get the blade head off to clean it, but now I have it down, and it is really nice to be able to quickly remove that and get it all cleaned out when done. One thing I noted is it is best to stay at a longer setting at first until you can dial in your desired length with these. I used the mm labels on the guides of my old clippers to choose the corresponding setting on these, but these seemed to cut a bit shorter. No big deal, it is very easy to change the height on these...I just offer that as warning for your first go with them. Might want to start a bit longer.Overall, I am pleasantly surprised how easy these are to use and how well they perform. It would be hard to go back to a heavier and louder corded clipper now. I hope these hold up for the long haul.

Love these clippers
I've been using my clippers for the last 2 months for both beard & hair. I replaced my Wahl 9818 which worked well for 12months then started falling apart. I don't mean this review to bag the Wahl I just think its overrated after using the Sminiker.Pro's vs Cons-Still on initial charge (Wahl was good too)-2 rechargeable Batteries suppled. So 1 spare as only need 1 to power-Excellent quality of guard attachments very stury & easy to change, allot better than Wahl for sturdiness.-Love the dial range as it cuts back on need for lots of guard attachments. Once I got to used to using it I could see you actually have a large range like the Wahl. For example the 18mm seems to stretch out to around 22+mm when put on blade setting 2.-Seems allot sharper & a cleaner sharper cut than my Wahl ( I had a relatively new blade on my Wahl to compare)-Sturdy body like the Wahl-Great charge port (Wahl is poor & was hit & miss after 8 months as to whether it would charge or not)-Low noise simular to Wahl-Great for short to medium length Beard & short buzz cut. I think it would work well for longer beards too.Con's-Free scissors are poor-No nose attachment-No travel/storage bag-No 0 setting which for me isn't a huge thing but would be handy on my neck line.Overall I wouldn't trade it for a Wahl. I think Wahl are fantastic in their old form as barbers clippers but the 9818 has allot of issues and the Sminiker solves them for me.
