Great book, full of information including graphs supporting each of the stich.... but sadly, the writing color is done not in black but rather in a kind of gray beige one, on a egg white color background. So for me, I just cannot read that book anywhere else than under direct light. I am surprised that so far, nobody else has mentioned it before. The Colors of the yarns used are stunning, bright and alive. But using for exemple, a green apple Colors as a graph Colors is asking for trouble reading. I will not return the book, it is a great book when I can read it...which is sadly, not very often.

No idea what some of the earlier reviews were talking about viz. grey writing on egg shell pages. This edition has black text on white pages, fab colours and photos of stitches throughout. It has quickly become my go-to stitch bible. The author clearly knows her subject and writes with ease on each stitch, including stating what it is best used for. Great resource for a beginner, too. Very clear instructions.

Great book, especially for a beginner! I am new to crochet and couldn't get my head around some of the videos and other diagrams online showing how to make different stitches. This book is perfect, the real size sample photos have helped and as a complete beginner, I feel that I can learn easily with this book. Easy to read and well-laid out, its been a pleasure to flick through things and not have to spend ages reading through things to get an idea of what to do.

I learned to crochet years ago but never really advanced from the usual sc, dc, hdc and tr. I recently started crocheting again and decided I wanted to add personal patterns to the items I made. This book is ideal for anyone like me who needs practical advice and a step by step guide. Since receiving this book I have made several jumpers and woolly hats and gloves from patterns which are basically plain but I have added some personalisation by using stitches shown in this book. Some are easy and very effective; others more difficult but very intricate. Well worth the money and will be used for many years.

Yes I saw this book I was over the moon, because I needed to update my crochet, so I new after I saw this book I was on my way. The book is really interesting and extremely helpful, I'm so pleased I sent for it, the price I paid was also great, it fits this book well, Thank you, because you don't see great books like this very often can I start now please
