I have a driveway that curves around a hillside and the downhill side is steep and prone to bad erosion.It's only been a couple of months since I installed the netting and I will not know fully how effective it will be until after the winter rains but so far I'm cautiously optimistic.I cut it in 14 foot lengths and YOU MUST TIE THE LONG STRANDS BACK TO THE SHORT CROSS STRANDS TO KEEP THE MAT FROM UNRAVELLING, BOTH ENDS,!!! Failure to do this means the matting will unravel and you've wasted your money and time!!!I dug a 8" wide x 8" deep trench across the top of the slope and lined the trench with the end of the net (make a 'U' if the net in the ground. This anchors the netting so it doesn't pull out and slide downhill. Backfilled it and let the remainder of net roll down the slope.Repeat with the next adjoining section.After I had installed all the sections side by side I pinned them together at the middle and bottom with steel landscape "pins' from the local box store lawn & garden section (they actually look like giant U shaped staples 2" wide by 6" long).I then put a light layer of topsoil onto the netting over the 50 foot long x 12 foot diagonal slope I was securing. Added grass seed to further stabilize the slope with their riirs and slow down the water running downhill. The slope is heavy on clay so doesn't grow well, the topsoil will be retained by the net and enable gras growth.I had to lightly water every day for two weeks (the water bill is going to be painful but the result is worth it to keep my driveway from washing away!). The gras is looking great and the few light rains no washout has occurred.It's all a system and the netting is a critical 'base' part of it.

Does an excellent job keeping our bank from erosion. Covered with bark and soil stays put. Good product!

Exactly what I wanted/needed. I rolled it onto a slope in my backyard for erosion control. I cut it into 10 yard strips for ease of placement and used a pole to aid in placement.I will probably purchase additional.

I'm very happy with the quality of this mat. It holds our slope very well. Worth the price tag.
