Q: How does this work with iPhone 12 Pro Max?

It will works ok but to spend 3000 dollars for these incredible headphones to use with the minimal power of an iPhone is like watching your grandmother drive a Ferrari. It's going to happen but the Ferrari isn't anywhere near getting its full potential and in the end why bother??

That depends on your requirements for fidelity. You can spend a lot for hi-end cables. Given what I was spending for the Stellias, and where I sit to listen, I bought 2&1/2 meter Black Dragon cables from Moon Audio. Not cheap, by any means, but their sound ands build quality are 5-star!

How long have you had the Stellias? Mine required quite a bit of breaking in. (This is not unusual among hi-end audio components. Most reviewers of any audio equipment say that they break the components they review in anywhere from 100 to 200 hours.) Mine didn't require that much, however, but there is definitely a break in time. The other thing is: these are really high-quality headphones, and like any other high-ed audio equipment, they can make a bad CD sound just as awful as it is, even for classical CDs. (This is esp. true for first-generation CDs.) Hope this is helpful, Ted
