ive been a cerwin vega fan for ever ... i own the d9s ... 15 inch pumping bass ... hihgs that will pierce your ears ... i will highly recomend them ... i bought the outdoor rated sds - 525 s .. i was excited when they arrived ... pulled the first one out of the box and bometinhg heavey was moveing freely inside the speaker... so i call cerwin vega ....i talked to kirk at ext 1364 ... he informed me that it was the shippers proublem an i would need to deal this out with them ... i ased him if i could open the encloser up without voiding my warrentee ... he said yes but it would still fall on fed ex ....to kirk and to cerwin vega im dissapointed ... do not buy these speakers

I bought these because of Cerwin Vega reputation and I have owned many over the years.I regret this decision. They seem built well,but all the screws are rusting and staining the white cabinets,permanately. The speaker terminals are screw down and one was stripped from the beginning. I emailed Cerwin Vega 4 times and just asked for a simple screw, on brand new speakers, and they NEVER responded. I own 4 pairs of outdoor speakers from 4 different companies(I like differnt aspects from them all) and these are by FAR my least favorite. They soumd average at best with no bottom end at all(this surprised me from CV).Advertised as full range and EVERY web site has different published frequency responses, some say low of 68 hz, some say 90 hz, mine had none at all,just "full range". I am guessing over 100 hz ,as one site says, is accurate. The speakers are too heavy for the plastic mounting brackets and it is impossible to keep them straight and level. Because of the brackets and the rust they are an eyesore. Every time I look at them it annoys me as they look uneven due to the brackets,so much so that I took them down today and replaced them with other speakers. I take my speaker in for the winter and still have my first pair from 1994, and they sound much better than these. I always set my outdoor up inside for the break-in period, so I cut them some slack,but they never improved in sound. I have them inside today and am doing some speaker comparisons and my feelings are the same, Not very musical and poor sound. Although everyone has their own opinion , this is mine. I always loved Cerwin Vega, and do not want to sound like a complainer, but from these speakers and their total ignoring my emails I would go elsewhere.

Mounted a pair of these outdoor speakers in my garage and connected them up to a Dayton 75 x 2 Amplifier and a powered subwoofer. The cabinet is made of quality plastic. The speakers and grill look great. The logo can be rotated for horizontal installation. The cable connection points and power selector switch are all solid.My only complaint is will the mount. If you use the horizontal and vertical adjustment options the speaker ends up several inches from the wall and can flex the mount despite its hard plastic..

speaker came very fast shipping was no problem,as for the speaker these little things rock. i use them for my outdoor light-o-rama light show. i live in the midwest and we have the very cold winters. i mounted them under my eave of the house so i could protect them from some of from the wheather they still got some snow and freezing rain on them and they did not miss a beat. the sound from cerwin vaga speakers are awsome,and you will not regret these little speakers THEY ROCK!!
