How to stop earthquakes
Easy simple install. Machine runs like new. This saved me the cost of buying and new washing machine.

Tedious, but simple to install - stops a walking washing machine
Our Kenmore washer began to experience extreme symptoms with even a slightly out-of-balance load. Upon spinning, it would begin to wobble uncontrollably and start to "walk" out of its place. The tub is suspended by four rods which serve as "shock absorbers" to dampen the wobble of an out-of-balance load, especially with items that have locked in a lot of water and are now overly heavy. As the spin cycle continues, the water is expelled and the load becomes more balanced. When the suspension rods are weakened, they can't do the job and have to be replaced. This set was very competitively priced. Installation is easy but time consuming. Videos are available online. It is a delight to not wonder if a load of clothes will start banging and walking the washer out of its place. The silence on the spin cycle is golden.

Worked great, fixed my washer!
These parts worked great for my washer and now it doesn't sound like world war 3 in my laundry room when I wash clothes. These suspension rods also seem thicker than original and better looking springs so overall I am happy with purchase and would buy again.

Perfect fix for Kenmore 500 Series (25132)
Shopping for these suspension springs was quite difficult without paying OEM prices. My major tip for this search is to take out one of your springs and measure it. Kenmore and Whirlpool washing machines want 3x the cost of these springs and they don't give much information on the dimensions. When searching, know whether you need 23", 23.5", 27.6" or some other length. I removed one of mine and just used a tape measure. The OEM part for mine is 23.54" and I figured that this product would work since it is so close to the size of the original. This item states 23.5" length, but from end-to-end, it measures 23.625". It worried me to see the extra length when I removed it from its packaging, but the spring was twice as stiff as the one on the OEM part. My hope was that the length difference would be negligible and the spring strength would make up for this slight difference in dimensions. As you can tell by the picture, the spring is significantly shorter than the OEM (which is green at the top). The old spring might be worn out and expanded from years of use. I'm not sure. I didn't measure the suspension spring when it was brand new. How-to videos will tell you to get underneath the washer to remove these parts, but in my Kenmore model 25132, I just had to reach in next to the tub and unclip the black plastic retainer clip and slip it out to the side. You can see the black retainer clip loose on the OEM, green-tipped original. This item does not have the retainer clip, but it would be impossible under normal use for this suspension rod to slip out of the groove on its own. If you plan on flipping the device over and letting the tub hang upside down, this could be an issue. Anyways, my install just required careful and forceful effort while accessing the top of the device. A pair of vise-grips made this much easier. I used my hand to lift the long rod with a hook to grab it with vise-grips through the hole and raised it high enough to attach the plastic stopper that is included. After attaching the stopper, rotate ninety degrees in either direction and let it slip into the groove. Had someone told me this before I started, it would have saved me some time.In case you aren't aware, these suspension springs wearing out is not the only reason for a loud banging from a washer. These washing machines with a pulsar instead of a pillar agitator can grind away the teeth on the tub-to-basin plastic ring and this causes the load to become unbalanced. This wasn't the case with my unit, but I still removed the pulsar and checked before ordering this item. There is a Youtube video that explains the problem better than I can "I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE! Whirlpool Washer STILL Out Of Balance, see what happened." on the channel: Richard Koon. If this is the case with your washer, there are metal fittings to replace your old plastic one. You don't have to trash the unit; as some believed. The easy way to check if your washer has this problem is explained in the video. Lifting the tub within the basin on the side made a tapping sound. Mine moved, but did not click or tap; so mine was okay. If you're hearing this sound, remove your pulsar and check the teeth for slop or wear. Removing the pulsar is not easy, but it might save you some time and frustration to know this trick. This review is too long already, but I wish I had known all these tips before beginning my project. This set of suspension springs fixed the banging sound in my Kenmore 500 Series washing machine and I hope something in this review helps others avoid hours of frustration doing research or ordering the wrong parts. Good luck!

Fixed my washing machine!
It's been a couple months now. Still working well, quite happy. I had replaced my washer's transmission as it had worn out, but my washing machine was still banging around during the spin cycle in particular. These silenced that noise and fit well, seem durable, and was an excellent value for the money. Saved me from buying a new washing machine!
