Gyokuro Green Tea -Imperial Green Tea from JAPAN｜Japanese Tea KIMIKURA (1.Premium Gyokuro 70g/2.4oz -Yame)

Kimikura's premium gyokuro is some of the best gyokuro I've found on amazon. It has a great smoky flavor. To get the full effect, steep for 7 minutes in a small amount of room temperature filtered water and drink. Only use hot water for subsequent steeps.

Just a fantastic tea. I love how it gives you the calm focused feeling that gyokuro imparts, but it has a reduced caffeine content because of the stalks. My new go-to tea.

Very sorry, but this product lacks flavor and is very twiggy. Only yields 1 cup of green tea vs. other brands that can yield up to 3 cups with 1 brew. I am testing 5 brands, which I will review in the coming months' post-consumption.

My review applies to purchase and consumption of the Gyokuro - Shizuoka (50g). Looks like Amazon mashed up all the ratings to produce a vague 4.6 out of 5 for the Kimikura gyokuro products, with no written reviews posted. Either Amazon fubar'd display of those reviews, or Kimikura 'agents' are shilling the hƏll out of the ratings, or both.Appearance (dry): about 60% leaves and 40% dust. Given all the effusive Kimikura marketing (see their brochure) I expected better. Maybe tea lot I bought from was trampled by an elephant during transit from packaging origin.Appearance (steeped & poured): basic gyokuro - melon green, light hazeAroma: also basic gyokuroTaste: yes, basic gyokuroHad hoped for better given origin and presentation of the company. Sadly this particular offering is no better, and in some respects worse, than the Shizuoka sold by bigger domestic merchants (Tealyra etc).

Take it before you meditate or do something cognitively demanding and I can almost promise you'll notice enhanced results because of the high level of l-theanine.Shade grown and first harvest indicated by the name. Amazon umami flavor and vibrant green colors.I've bought this several times before and plan to buy several times again!
