Q: Will it work with Apple Pencil with skin on it? thickness increases approximately 1.3mm.

it will, but the problem is that this holder is not magnetic, what holds it on the ipad itself is the magic keyboard, I've dealt with this by using double sided sticky tape and fixed this holder to my ipad so that i can disconnect the ipad from the heavy keyboard and use the ipad with the pencil without the keyboard but with the holder and pen on it. hope this helps.
