I started using Microbe-Lift this past winter for their cold water and winter enzyme packet and liquid bacteria cultures. They worked so well that I decided to try them out this spring. I usually use Seachem’s pond products, and decided to try Microbe Lift PL to get my filter bacteria population kick-started after giving it a deep clean, instead of Pond Stability. I had also just started my UV for the season and had dead suspended algae everywhere, and was hoping that the enzyme packets would help digest it.I was amazed by the results! Within a day of adding Microbe Lift PL and the spring/summer enzyme packets, my water turned crystal-clear. The water is so sparkly and clean that it looks like my koi are floating in the air! The cycle also started up immediately, and is almost finished. I continue to use Seachem’s Pond Prime to help keep the ammonia and nitrites detoxified while the bacteria population gets established. I’m also feeding lightly, just once per day.I plan to continue using this product. I do agree with other reviewers—be prepared for an extremely foul odor upon opening the jar. It smells very earthy with a hint of sulphur, not unlike manure. However, that’s a great sign—that’s the odor of bacteria metabolism by-products, so you know it’s a live culture.

I've been using this stinkey stuff for years. I guess it works, the fish are healthy but it smells like kaka. No joke, the first time I used it I thought it had gone bad, it smells like an overflowing septic tank, however,The smell goes away after an hour so. No complaints from the fish. Just don't spill it in the house, your wife won't be happy with you. Trust me.

This brand in general is so wonderful for outdoor ponds. It has served us wonderfully for our duck pond!

IT WORKSSSS!!!!!! Who cares about the smell, it ate all the grossness off our liner without me using nasty harsh chems. Yes, crystal clear! Dont mind the mess. Creating a stream. Yesterday those white rocks and liner tinged with hard to scrub green!

This product is unbeatable. Regardless the conditions it gets the job done all the time. It smells horrible, but it really works and doesnt harm the fish. Of course it is not recommended to apply simultaneously while feeding the fish obviously. Recommended

Product is good for the price. But the box was damaged.

In previous years, I used to think that this product was a total waste of money. I kept pouring in the solution, and I saw no improvement in my pond. However, I decided to give one more go at it this year at the beginning of the season. I applied the specified amount of solution to the pond and waited. Before the application, the water was murky and could not see the bottom. The instruction said I need to wait for 18 to 25 days for it to work, but the water got clear enough that I could see the bottom of the pond within two weeks. I tend to be late applying the follow up dosage, but the water stays clear. I am hoping that it may help me control algae better.I don't know the reason why it didn't work for me in previous years. I always used it after the condition of the pond got bad with algae. This is the first time I used it right at the beginning of the season. However, I don't know if it was the reason.I am now pleased with this product and would recommend it.
