Didn't meet my expectations
Of the three Tunable White BR30 bulbs I bought three months ago, one is already dead. (That's a really, really short life for an LED bulb!)Even before that, there were a couple of flaws that really bothered me:- Apparently, you can set the default color temperature if, and only if, you have the Sylvania hub. I don't have the Sylvania hub; I'm using SmartThings. With SmartThings, I'm stuck with 2700k lights (at initial power delivery); we wanted something closer to 6500k. I don't really want to purchase a new, dedicated hub for a one-time settings pressing. (This is absolutely a preference thing, but feel like there ought to be some other way to do this; you shouldn't have to buy a hub for a one-time use if they're going to tout compatibility with another hub!)- Pairing mode is too easily triggered. I have a toddler and on multiple occasions now, she's managed to put the bulbs back into pairing mode (which unpairs them from our hub). GE Link bulbs' pairing process was an absolute pain, but we never accidentally triggered pairing with a few off/on toggles like we have with the Sylvania bulbs.- The dimmest setting isn't as dim as Hue or LIFX bulbs (but seems to be on par with GE Link and Sengled).- SmartThings Routines that trigger changes to brightness and color temperature sometimes only do one or the other.Two of the three bulbs still work, but we're not really using them as smart, tunable bulbs because of the flaws listed above.

Perfect setup with Echo Plus 💟💟💟 Great lighting +1000
I just received my order today, on-time, typical smile box. Was a bit concerned at first there was no bubble wrap or anything inside & even though appropriately sized box for the contents, there was a few inches of wiggle space inside. Highly unusual for Amazon packaging, but all is well. Just thought I'd mention because for a breakable item, there really should be some packing material to secure bulb package inside IMHO. Not enough of an issue to deduct stars, but just a concern, though unwarranted in this case. The bulb itself very well & securely packaged with a clear round sticker closure. There were other reviews stating used or incorrect bulb, open/damaged packaging, but the packaging was perfect. All 4 bulbs shiny & new.The BR30s are my 8 -11th smart bulbs & these are absolutely the BEST! I did set them up individually by voice with Echo Plus, bypassing the Alexa app or Lightify app/instructions completely & seamlessly, right out of the box. Perfect setup in a few minutes, Echo Plus discovered in seconds. My cell is space challenged, so great that I didn't have to try to squeeze in another app, yay! Grouped 4 bulbs in my kitchen & they respond perfectly individually or as a group with Alexa voice (Echo plus, echo, tap or dot), Alexa app on Fire or Alexa app on Android phone by voice or touch.These bulbs are just AWESOME! I really love the shade choices: warm, soft, white, daylight white & all dimmable as well. Perfect lighting for any kitchen application. Daylight setting is especially bright & perfect for a kitchen. So much so that, dang, my kitchen is dusty & needs to be cleaned now. Lighting was too dim to notice before installing these bulbs. The test will be how long these bulbs last.I'm no techie, but with my internet challenges, am simply amazed that a smart home is possible for the circumstances. Rural area, no wired internet/cable, only internet through a wi-fi hotspot device, typically 2 bars service. Echo Plus is my only hub/controller. Devices used are Echo plus, echo, dot, tap, 3 fire tablets, fire tv stick, 2 Sylvania hub-required plugs, 7 A19 bulbs & now (4) of these Sylvania BR30s. Wi-fi plugs or bulbs don't seem to work, only hub-required devices work. Hope this helps others in rural, internet challenged areas.I am totally happy with my purchase of (4) Sylvania BR30 tunable bulbs & plan to buy (6) more over time for the rest of my home recessed light fixtures, one room at a time. They appear very well made & high quality. I highly recommend for use with the Echo Plus as hub & would also recommend to family/friends!

Lights with a life of their own
I had no problems syncing the bulbs with the app, like other reviewers noted; however, once I got them up and running, there was no way to keep them in sync. After grouping them with the wink app and the Alexa app into a single item, the lights would sequentially turn on and off, instead of all at once. That wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the individual lights randomly turning on and off, and in some cases, just changing temperatures at random while turning on. Then other light bulbs just started blinking for no reason, even though they were paired properly.Overall, this is a pretty bad product. I tried to look past other reviewers, to see if it was just a fluke, but now I can see why these bulbs have all these bad reviews.

Lights do not accurately respond to Amazon Echo Plus
While the lights are great when they work (having the ability to change the light color - Tunable - and the dimmer capabilities), the lights I receive all become “unresponsive” and “malfunction” if run by Amazon Echo Plus.Note that before I wrote this review, I contacted the manufacturer for assistance. Communication went back and forth several times, including my sharing pictures of the serial numbers, and I was then given a different email (same overall company) and was told that I had to contact them. I wrote out everything for that email, and received notification that the email was invalid. Yes, I double-checked it. I then responded to the original string asking for further assistance and have been completely ignored.I can’t return them to Amazon at this point as the boxes are not intact (the return window is still open), and I do not have bulbs to put in the light fixtures until I order new ones. Additionally, one if bulbs is installed 30-ft high; I would have to go up the ladders again two more times...this was supposed to be a solution for that fixture.I am so disappointed in the lights and the company. I used a gift card and some of my own money - what a gift! Do not buy unless you are using the Osram gateway - Amazon’s Echo Plus does NOT control these bulbs sufficiently.
