I make homemade sourdough English Muffins. This is a nice tool to cut the muffins open. The forks in my silverware set are too bulky to get the job done. I may try using it to slice onions, but it’s not why I purchased it. The unit is very sturdy.

This is the BEST thing ever! The metal prongs are thick & sturdy! I've cut up onions, bell peppers and slice tomatoes with ease.I enjoy cutting up my own slices or diced pieces from the whole vegetable or fruit as I go. This holder is fantastic!

I’m not that great in the kitchen and could never dice an onion very well so I’d leave the onion out when cooking. This device is helpful and I bought one for a friend. It helps keep the onion in place and is safer and you’re less aptly to get cut. It’s a good size and easy to hold in place.

Seems sturdy enough and looks to be well made, but doesn't come with a guard for those pointy spikes. Guarantees that it will get tangled up with everything else in the drawer, and will probably stick you untangling it from everything else (unless you're a Type A personality that has a nice neat place for all your kitchen gadgets.) With an included guard, it would be 4-5 stars.

I have used it several times now and it works great. I can go from spline to spline or skip one for a thicker cut. I like having pre-sliced tomatoes in a small food container for easy access.

Sometimes less is more. I have a Mandolin which works well, but takes up a lot of storage space, is difficult to clean and I am always afraid of cutting my fingers. This device is small and simple to use. I sliced potatoes and roasted them. Next time Potatoes Au Gratin?

What a great idea! I use this device to slice everything from onions and tomatoes, to meats. Simply insert the holder into the item you want to slice, place your knife between the prongs and easily cut off a slice. You can vary the width of your slices too, by using the number of prongs to determine the width. Highly recommended.

Holds Not just Onions but Tomatoes. I bought this because I have cut myself 3 times with some new knives and this device is the best solution. I tried a Mandolin but it was too dangerous for me.
