Great idea… but
I would really love this product if my 4 yr old wouldn’t have figured out how to unfasten it. When I first purchased and saw how effective it could be, we knew she probably would be desperate enough to go to the opp thumb so I was about to buy a 2nd one until her pre-k teacher sent us a picture of her asleep sucking her thumb during nap time. She said she would unfasten it at nap time and fasten it back afterwards.

Worked within 1-2 weeks. Amazing
This worked for both my boys ages 5 and 7. We had tried just about everything i could think of to quit but got nowhere. The boys both wanted to quit but just didnt know how. We got 2 of the devices, one for each kid. They wore them most of the time for about a week except while in school. They kept telling me that they quit and didnt feel like sucking any more but i kept them on for a few more days anyway. They did not like wearing the device but we bribed them with toys for keeping it on. That worked. Perhaps they quit sucking just so they would not have to wear it anymore. When they got to stop wearing it we had them put on a bandaid as a reminder. I really dont care why it worked. But it worked for us! They could wiggle the thumbs out if they really wanted so if you have a kid that is older and really not ready to quit it may not work but it is relatively inexpensive so i feel like its worth a try. I wish i had done this when the kids were 1 or 2 years old.

Not durable enough! Broken 2x now!!
This was our last resort after trying the biter nail stuff and other gloves. He has stopped because it's on all the time but when I take it off he starts again. It has also torn twice now. We have superglue it but it isn't working on the most recent tear. Disappointing since it was so expensive!! My son is normal as far as activity but it just tears!

My son actually stopped sucking his thumb!
My son actually stopped sucking his thumb! This works...My son tried like crazy to take this off day one. He actually got it off because it was too loose. But we tightened it (no loss of circulation) and he kept it on all night. We keep it on day and night (and bath) and eventally he stopped sucking his thumb by about week 3. We keep it on as he though it "made his thumb stronger." By week 5 it split apart and was no longer usable, but it didn't matter because it served its purpose. The falling apart around week 5 is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. This actually works though!

Too small didn't fit well, painful to wear.
Didn't fit my son, was too small, he cried it hurt and kept pulling it off. I had used another guard when he was younger that worked great. It's twice the price but you get two and it worked great at helping him stop sucking his thumb during the day. I need a bigger one for the night now, but this was not effective. The instructions were awful. Did not explain at all how to put it on. I managed to figure it out but still better instructions are needed.

No more thumb sucker
Hi this definitely worked my daughter was a hard core thumb sucker. After visiting the dentist and a hard winter of sickness I was ready for my 31/2 year old to quit.I have alot to say about this product. It was a hate love relationship. I don't know if the device worked but the threat of putting it on did.My daughter hated wearing it and I just thought it was so cruel to make her wear it at night but the process would not of worked if she did not.She could get it off and still suck her thumb no matter how tight I made it. But making it tight worried me and she did not like being uncofortable. So after about 4 days she learned to get her thumb out the whole process took about 2 months but she quit because of the threat of putting it on. Then she started having trouble sleeping and that took about a year to fix if it not one thing it's another. But it eventually worked 😉

Delicate silicone material and weak strap
I have purchased this product after comparing couple of different products.Initially thought of buying 2 for left and right hand of my 6 years kid. As it is expensive want to try 1 piece and go for other hand later. It is made of silicone, very flexible material. So flexible that 1 1/2 year or 2 year old kid can easily pull the cover out of thumb using other hand.Straps are so week, locking clip broken at very first attempt by my kid, Still I tied with knot trying to use. My kid keeps the Thumb cover in tact when we are watching and pulls off (just the cover) and sucks the thumb when we are not watching, without taking the strap off.Unless your kid is below 1 year old don't waste money on this product
