Excellent Tool For Polymer Clay
Great tool for polymer clay. Makes 1/16", 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" thick slabs. Clay will stick to roller if it is too warm or if it is one of the softer polymer clays (Original Sculpey, Sculpey III, Fimo Soft). I use Premo! by Sculpey and have not had an issue of it sticking to the roller unless it has been overworked. When it is overworked, I let it rest for a bit. Some reviews say it has some nasty sticker on it that was hard to remove. There is no sticker on it anymore. Came in a blister pack. The only pain is that it was stapled together in a couple spots.Awesome tool, I use it all the time. Great for making perfect slabs and conditioning the clay. Much cheaper than a pasta machine and takes up very little space. Very happy with it!

Great tool!
Excellent tool for use with clay. I make clay tiles for decorating small items like small boxes. This tool allows for maintaining an equal thickness of the clay, into which I then press patterns, which gives best results for the look of the end product. The tool is easy to use. The product indicates there are 8 "nails", but that's a typo, they are rails. There are 4 sets of 2 rails each. Each set of same-height rails allows you to roll out a certain thickness of clay easily - 1/16", 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4". The rails go into grooves on the left and right side of the board, and the roller is rolled over the clay, the roller being held at the specific height of the rails that have been inserted in the board. If you have a need to roll out clay to the thicknesses described, this tool will make your craft much easier. And, of course, the rails can be left off for rolling the clay in whatever thickness you desire on a surface where it's easy to remove after rolling. There's also no reason you cannot make your own rails for different heights than those of the rails provided.

Dirty & Damaged & Sold As New
I purchased this item despite some problematic reviews. I should not have. I examined the item without opening the clamshell package, which is not adequate to protect the product throughout normal shipping. The roller was dirty and damaged, and appeared to have some residue on it. While I was examining the roller, I found a dark brown hair, probably a body hair or eyebrow hair, as well as a number of fabric fibers. The outermost rails were damaged on both ends, with the bottom end being worst. Also observed were at least a half-dozen plastic shavings approximately 3/4” long.I truly wanted to use this product and really hoped I would get a good one. I didn’t. At best, this product is a crapshoot when it arrives. It might be one of the good ones. It might be another like I received. This one is going back and will not be replaced. It just isn’t worth the hassle when I can use an acrylic roller with thickness rings or rails.
