Great pump but a little expensive compared to others available.

I had bought a DIAL pump which died within one day. I then bought another DIAL pump which lasted 2 days. The DIAL pumps were no good. I installed this pump and it's been working perfectly for about a month. Hopefully it continues to do so.

Bought this, in a hurry, with same-day delivery, as the fifth or sixth pump in as many years. As some reviews note, it's much heavier than the many-brand plastic pump (Dial, etc.) and has heavier castings and metal parts. I am hoping that overall, that means the motor itself and the windings and brushes are more durable.These pumps have doubled in price in the last few years and I did not want to go pay HD or Lowe's over $40 for a pump I knew would barely last out one season... more than one was a September replacement to get through the last of the hot season, and failed just weeks of use into the next June. If I get a second full season from this pump, I will consider it a victory... but I did buy a three-year replacement warranty on it to make sure. :)

The product seems to work fine, but I am dissatisfied with Amazon and the marketing of this item. The item that I got was not what this page desribes. THE IMAGE AND DISCRPTION CLEARLY SHOW AND DESCRIBE A 90 DEFREE ARM/SPOUT WITH A RED VALVE - THIS IS MISLEADING AND FALSE. The item that I got has a different out spout. Furthermore, it did not come with any mounting hardware. The pump just has two predrilled screw/bolt holes on the side of it. It is up to you to buy or MacGyver something. Disappointed with Amazon - not with the pump.

My other pump was old so I made the mistake of buying a pump from Walmart for a back up. It was a name brand so I thinks to my self hey baby you can't go wrong. Well one day I decides to install that there pump from Wally world in the old swamper. I was going to save the runner for back up. Won't ya know ,It ran for exactly 2.5 seconds then started muttering the spurting then dies.So I put the old one back in and get on good old Amazon reading reviews . This little Giant got some pretty good reviews. I byded it and it showed up fast like lighting. One thing I immediately observed was the weight of this thing. It was twice as heavy as the competitor model at about the same price.It was of sound construction and engineered well for design and application. I immediately observed that it was pushing more water to my units cooling pads. That in turn resulted in a much cooler output. Thermal scans of the cooler vent indicated the air was approximately 8 degrees cooler. Resulting in a happy consumer with a 5 star rating.

Bought w/ damaged packaging, item was fine, item didn't last 2 full months. This is beyond disappointing- its hot outside- these pumps used to last for YEARS. when it worked, it worked just fine, was not loud, was easy it install, had a little fitting I could put on hose then attach onto pump which was very convenient. flow was fine when it worked. And I am out of luck per amazon policy- should have purchased at store that understands how long these things should work. Should not have to eat cost.
