I sent the first one back-it had been opened. The 2nd has been opened too. $168 is too much to pay for open box. Has anyone else experienced this?

This just happened to me, the box was damaged and was for sure opened prior to me. I plugged it in and the machine would not take the water. I have ordered three of these and this is the second one with this problem. Are they just re-packaging sent back machines without checking them out. Not cool.

Is this an official nespresso machine or a knock off? who is de'longhi?

Nespresso only licenses the design of the machines, they don't manufacture them. And, with everything except the Lattissima models, which are made exclusively by De'Longhi in Italy, they are primarily OEMed by Eugster/Frismag in Switzerland and the Breville, Krups, or De'Longhi name is added for branding purposes. If the stylized Nespresso logo is on the machine somewhere you can be pretty sure you are getting an officially licensed machine. While Nespresso's patents began to expire in 2012, Nestlé has continued to work hard to discourage competitors from making a machine compatible with the original pods. However in 2013 they lost a court battle to prevent the manufacture of aftermarket pods themselves and at some point there will undoubtedly be lots of "Nespresso pod compatible" machines to choose from. That being said, none of those units should bear the Nespresso logo nor will there be a Nespresso Club decal on the unit . On the Pixie, the logo is embossed over the spout so you can be sure it meets Nestlé's standards.

How many whisks does the areoccino come with? Mine has one, but I saw some that come with two different sizes.

In some cases I’ve heard of 2 . There should be 2 separate whisks... The one for hot milk... the whisk for this is round and looped . The cold milk one is smaller and much , much different!

What is the lungo type that come in the samplers?

Lungo is almost like a double shot.
