Big bad breeze block buster!
This is a fantastic tool for cutting through breeze blocks and other block work including concrete and stone blocks. It's particularly useful when you need to make a tidy and quick cut.I was previously using smaller angle grinders and circular saws with diamond blades or a simple hammer and chisel. I was able to cut through blocks for building work, but it took time and effort due to limited power, limited cutting depths and the sheer density of blocks being used. In the case of the lump hammer and chisel it was a lot of effort and time trying to split blocks accurately and wasn't a great option when precision was required.Despite this, I did question the value of buying a disc cutter and wasn't sure how much time it would save. Since buying it my doubts have been blown away. It cuts through even dense concrete blocks and stone blockwork without hesitation. It's also really easy to control and make accurate cuts and I don't find it heavy or cumbersome. Having made several hundred cuts through 215mm x 100mm stone blocks and breeze blocks I dread to think how much longer I would have been stood there without this tool. It also has a handy wheeled rest to place it down on and this combined with the disk brake means you can put it down as soon as you've finished your cut. The cuts have also been beautifully clean, so there's no excuse for a sloppy finish.I normally stick to Makita tools and wasn't sure about trying something from Evolution. So far, despite being well used I'm still on the original diamond blade and touch wood haven't had to replace the brushes. If it continues to work like this it has been a great value purchase.

Fantastic value
Bought this on a January deal to cut thick, old concrete containing lots af hard pebbles clear of the walls of my house, to dig clear of the DPC. At the price it didn't make sense hiring one. Amazed with this cutter, which came with a diamond disc as well. It cut all my concrete absolutely no problem, some parts were about a brick thick. I even expected to maybe have to buy another disc to finish the job but no, it did the lot and there's still life in it. It's a powerful cutter, nicely balanced, not too heavy and easy to use. Saved me an absolute fortune in doing this job myself. Highly recommended, great tool.

Beast of a disc cutter...
Needed something to help with cutting a doorway in a cinder-block wall and would serve for cutting paving slabs for future patio work - this seemed a good value option versus hiring for a few days, and came complete with disc, so opted for this and wasn't disappointed. It's well built - heavy - and needs some care if using in - errrm - unconventional circumstances, shall we say, but performed really well, Sliced through render and cinder block to the full 90mm with no trouble - just learned a valuable lesson about 1960s cinder-block and the dust produced by a diamond disc. The vacuum port on the shroud really doesn't do much, even when connected to a good, industrial-strength vaccy, but no argument about the cutting performance. Looking forward to a time when I can indulge in some patio rework with this beast. Needs some care in use but overall good value.

Good machine. It takes 22.3mm blades and 20mm standard blades.
I have a large concrete slab to cut down. It's working well. This saw is quieter and lighter than my petrol saw which I struggle with due to the weight. It cuts just as well. I can manage it despite my bad back! The supplied orange 300 mm blade is not great but cuts OK. There is not much diamond compound on it. Some reviews complain it only takes 22.3 mm blades but this is not the case. The 22.3 driving boss on the blade spindle is reversible and the other side is for 20mm blades. I put an OX 20x300 mm concrete blade on which cuts better. Its a real bonus it takes both sizes of blade. I got the standard dry version but it was simple to remove the blanking plugs in the guard and poke some silicone tube through to water cool it. It's seen quite a bit of use in the past couple of weeks. I hope it lasts
