A great children's fantasy series
Brian Jacques is one of those writers who knows how to tickle your imagination both on the page and in person. (I attended a book festival where he gave a most amusing and insightful talk, so can attest to the latter).These are books written for the avid younger reader where a large cast of engaging animals are engaged in a multitude of adventures. Just imagine if your pet cat or dog could tell you their story. You get the idea. Except, these animals live in a society a bit like humans except with animal characteristics. Any child should really enjoy this mishmash and commentary on society. And the stories are fun and even at times a little scary. Just what kids love.Hence, I can't recommend this series enough. (And no, I don't get commission for writing this.)

Beautifully Written.
I remembered my younger brother reading these books many years ago and really enjoying them so when my 9 year old son finished the Harry Potter series I bought him these. They are beautifully written and he has been totally gripped by them. So lovely to see him developing the love of a good book in a world with so many other things competing for his attention.

Exactly as ordered
Handily came wrapped in cellophane as the driver left the box next to the front door and it rained so box was sodden but books were pristine.

Easy reading. Great storytelling a must for young and old.

New covers are a shame
Excellent stories but the new covers are a real shame - v generic and out of touch w the feel of the tales themselves. The original artwork was wonderful so this seems like a shame!

Keeping an 8yr old engaged
Reading with my 8yr old nephew. The language is a little hard but the story is keeping him engaged, and so he's happy to keep reading.
