Bible History on Oils Used
To begin with, I love this book because it states alphabetically each oil mentioned in God's holy word, its uses of and benefits for. There are bible verses with scripture on each oil category and where that oil is mentioned and numerous recipes to make and its method of application for each is very organized. It's a great book for beginning to learn of oils whether it be organic, therapeutic, for fragrance or household cleaning. The book also advises use for anyone who has such and such health issue forewarning of a particular oil's use and a list of those oils to avoid that are poisonous. An excerpt from the book: MYRRH also Commiphora myrrh ---- John 19:39-41, with scripture---- Jesus's gift at birth, Joseph received it as a gift from his brothers, Esther used it in purification rituals, Moses used as base oil in a blend for sacred temple, Solomon sang of its unique scent, Joseph and Nicodemus applied it in other spices as a blend with aloe to the binding cloth on Jesus's crucified body.Other important information explains its eight medicinal properties, it's 14 medicinal uses, it's 10 blending oils, 3 substitutions, and precautions not while pregnant or breastfeeding...…….. I love how the author ties in history with today's values on oils used in the bible and it's quite a rich insight how people cured their illnesses. This book would be beneficial in adding to a church's medical room if oils were the go to when in need as long as it isn't taken internally. That is for one's doctor to recommend. The author, Randi Minetor has done an indepth research putting it out there in easy format to benefit everybody who takes an interest in learning about biblical oils and their uses.

VERY NICELY WRITTEN -
I am new to essential oils and the idea of using them. As I spoke to more people and found religious ties to oils and their uses, I found myself allowing my mind to be more open to both using them and learning about them more as well. I didn't just want to buy into an idea or current fad to hang onto looking for any cure-alls or crutches.I HAVE NEVER ENJOYED READING AND DON'T DO IT VERY OFTEN, but when I do...... it's usually because it's either a new interest to me or a very well written, laid out, interesting and easy to read book. I'm not finished with this book yet, but I haven't been able to put it down. I love the cover, I love the scripture on each page and I actually enjoyed reading the intro and first 43 pages of Need To Know information as I'm new to oils, their uses and applications. I feel a connection with God and my faith while reading and learning and find myself wanting to learn more not only of essential oil use, but more about the times and practices in Jesus' day on earth and after. I have already found two important points in this book that I want to share because they really struck me. FIRST- the fact that the writer supports and believes in both the use of oils and the trust in our modern medicine also, as GOD gave us the ability to diagnose and heal as well. I enjoyed the elaboration about the connection between both practices and using them together as God intended. SECONDLY- the writer noted that in todays times we tend to google or turn to the internet to look for many of our specific questions and end up missing other important information that we were maybe intended to learn or read as in reading through a chapter of the Bible and it's many verses a opposed to just one verse. That statement left me wanting to read and learn more about lots of information and references vs. just a particular oil or practice....... So, I decided to read the book from beginning to end vs just as a reference and I've thoroughly enjoyed learning about oils I'm interested in and oils that I most likely never will. I feel very informed and interested up to the point I've read so far and wanted to share. Thank you for writing and I look forward to not only my new journey in essential oils, but feeling like I'm sharing, respecting and practicing along with my my Faith and religion.

Nicely organized
I like the layout, easy searchability (even of the paper version) of this book. Proven mixtures of essential oils for promoting healing like for stuffy nose, etc. I actively check this book before ordering organic essential oils. Informative, helpful cautions and recipes.

Wonderful Companion Tool
I love this new book. I am of beginner/moderate skill, oil user, and wanted to grow my knowledge. As my skills increase, it's important to me to understand how oils have been historically used, how they relate scientifically, how they link to ancient Biblical times as well as to modern times. We can use what has been created on earth to stay healthy and experience overall wellness in mind, body, and spirit. I love that this lovely book contains the historical and Biblical uses of oils for context, beautiful sketches of herbs with accompanying scriptures, various tables of contents and indexes with details relating to scriptures, ailments, and the accompanying oils. Though not comprehensive, it isn't designed to be; I purchased this book as a companion tool to use with a more comprehensive and "classic" essential oil resource guide. I find great value in understanding the ancient wisdom and spiritual significance placed on oils and their use; it doesn't need to be lost in our modern time, and still has great value, especially if I understand their significance. This book also helps me understand scriptures more; as I read God's word and come upon scriptures relating to oils and their use, it further shows me God's infinite wisdom and dominion over the earth He created. He's amazing. If you too value these ideas or wish to know more about how oils are spiritually, scientifically and medicinally significant, I heartily recommend this marvelous book.
