Very effective in cleaning the aquarium. Good value for money.

Have no idea why I put off getting this item for our aquarium. This scraper worked amazing for removing any and all hard attached algae. The stuff one always dreaded having to reach down in the tank and scrub by hand. Concerned of its construction it is very durable with its screw together aluminum rods and a very strong hard plastic blade attachment. Easy to install and change blades along with a nice protective cap that snaps onto it when not in use. Had the tank clean I no time with zero mess. Scrape, vacume and wala tank is spotless. Blade angle adjustment makes it easy to use at different angles since we have shelving above our tank.

Pros: very sturdy, easy to insert the blades, good as a poking tool for the tank, doesn't feel cheap or tacky.Cons: outside and inside packaging came a little beat up but did not damage the scraper, kind of difficult to screw the pieces together the first time (you just have to be very centered when screwing them together)4.5/5 good stick good

Works great: Note to people having trouble putting in the blades: Carefully look at the blade replacement pictures in the product information section. After you remove the safety cover and remove the screws, there is a second plastic piece to remove (when it looks like the blades holes are too small for plastic center piece, it is...until you remove that last piece. Then it snaps in, replace and screw in that last plastic cover, and it is fine.) The handle will need re tightening as you use it, and you need to clean and dry the blade before putting away or it will rust. With care, works well and should last.

This works really well on algae but you got to be careful, I got too close to the sealant on the aquarium and it took off some of the sealant too. That was user error not the fall of the product. The extension length on it is great because I have a portrait shaped aquarium which is quite tall.

I never write reviews but felt really compelled - this scraper was amazing. We recently bought a house and it came with a fish tank that was in desperate need of cleaning.It took me not even 5 minutes to completely scrape all of the algae from the walls of the tank. Literally if I could give this 10 stars I would. Great value for money, comes with 10 razor blades so this will last me awhile.

The screw bearings/attachment zones need a cap if you are not using the full extended arm on small tanks. They are very rough and do not feel good in your hands when you make contact with it.
