ISOtunes Sport Advance BT Shooting Earbuds: Tactical Bluetooth Hearing Protection (OD Green)

First the good. The Bluetooth connection to an iPhone is nice and stable, and the sound quality of streamed music, and phone calls is very good. A little bad, the foam ear buds can be a bit uncomfortable if you don't get them seated just right, however once you do get them seated properly they offer excellent hearing protection to loud noise. The feature that allows you to turn on the external microphone is somewhat useful, however the sound quality is "tinny". I use these daily at work to dampen noise, and still be able to communicate without pulling out the ear plugs. It works to a degree, however if there is noise coming from all directions, the external mic is susceptible to just amplifying all that noise and missing the speech. The battery life is stellar, I work a 10 hour shift, and often have these turned on and in my ears for up to 9 hours if the shop is noisy, and the battery lasts all day without a problem. Usually those 9 hours would including streaming music, using the external mic for conversation, and some phone conversations, so they definitely aren't in idle mode much of the time. The cord that connects the earbuds together is for me, just right. Not so long that they are constantly pulling out of my ears or getting wound up in a collar, and not so short as to put too much weight on my ears. The quality of the overall construction does seem to be a bit, well, cheap. However time will tell on that, so far they have been used an average of 30 hours a week for a month now--killing noise while being able to listen to a book or music is awesome--without any bits falling off or breaking. They do come with a nice carrying case, and while its a bit bulky, I find I use it daily to protect the earbuds while not in use.Edit: Had the earbuds fail suddenly, contacted ISO for help. They quickly warrantied them and sent out a new set. Entire process took just a couple days with an email or two, and the rest of the time was shipping. I have to say, I was impressed by their customer service. I have also had a chance to do more testing at the shooting range with these, and they work excellent for me. Upgraded to 5 Stars :)

works great at shooting range, but does not get real load for stereo sound quality. bought for its sound blocking to tune out the world or the wife - lol

I use them at the range, for hunting, and working with power equipment. The hearing protection is excellent. Select the correct size ear tip, and they effectively isolate noise and are all-day comfortable. (The ear tips do need occassional replacement to maintain protection.) Battery life is never an issue. I've used them for 8-10 hours a day for several days without having to charge them. With 7 external sound levels and directional microphones, it is easy to maintain situational awareness, have a conversation or hear movement in the woods. Bluetooth connectivity is a bonus, and the audio quality when listening to music or podcasts is surprisingly good. However, volume level is limited to a 'safe' level. They are earpro afterall.Wind noise and clicking or sharp sounds will cause the sound to be clipped, but I've gotten used to it and don't find it distracting. Phone calls are possible and the incoming audio is clear, but I'm told that my voice is very muffled.This is the first time I'm writing a product review, and I chose to write this one because of Isotunes Customer Service. About a week ago, the right earbud audio stopped working. I contacted Isotunes Customer Service via the Amazon product link, and recieved a prompt response with a request for additional information which I provided. Although the headset was purchased in April 2023 and legitimately out of warranty, I explained it was a Father's Day gift that wasn't unboxed until June. Isotunes sent me a replacement set within hours. I was pleasantly surprised.

These work as described for shooting. Will block out gunshots while letting normal sounds through. The battery lasts for hours before needing recharged. I haven't actually ran them dead but have had them on for a six hour stretch no problem. I ve hunted with these several times now and my only issues are 1 - theres an audible hiss that I hear the whole time these are on. That said it's not as distracting as you would think, you get accustomed to the noise pretty quick. 2, the cord is a bit short making the buttons impossible to see when you have these on. Not a big deal but something to consider. So far these seem pretty durable. I dropped them off a stand the first time out and they survived nicely. I give this 3 stars only for the hiss...otherwise it's 4. I probably would buy these again if price was my only consideration. Next time I will try to find a more silent option.

I got my first pair, and had serious problems with the Bluetooth. I could connect my phone, and it would play music only when I was holding the phone within a foot of the headset. As soon as I dropped the phone into my pocket, the music started cutting out.I contacted customer support (via email), and they got back to me within 24 hours, with some suggestions. I tried it, but still didn’t work. They shipped me a new set, with a return envelope for the old one. New one works great.I also mentioned that I had small ear canals and the earbuds didn’t fit in my ears. With the new unit, they sent a packet of different tips that don’t come with the factory package, at no charge. The new smaller tips work great.Now as for the function of the headset itself. The sound quality isn’t anything to write home about, but it’s not crap either. The amplification feature is interesting. It amplifies EVERYTHING. While testing them at full amplification, I could hear the water running inside the pipes in the wall. My garage door opener was so loud, I thought it was broken.And last but not least, the loud noise cancellation. It worked great. In fact it worked so good, it was flawless. The speed at which it cut the sound, and brought it back to normal, was so fast that I didn’t even know it happened, other than I didn’t hear a loud noise when I fired my pistol.
