A great natural way to dye your hair without chemicals
Years ago I developed an allergy to a chemical that exists in nearly every hair dye (and other dye products, including tattoo ink) on the market called PPD. Some countries have actually banned the use of this in tattoo ink now due to the fact that about 25% if the population can develop a serious allergy to this chemical, as I found out after it sent me to the ER the last time I went to the hair salon to get my hair dyed using a product with PPD in it (just a standard hair dye). For awhile I was really disappointed, thinking I couldn't ever dye my hair again. Not a tragedy, but disgruntling. Then I began to try Henna products, but most of them are very messy or take a lot of prep work to make happen, and my stylist didn't want to deal with them. Until I found this gem.Not only is it organic, but it's super easy to use, even on my own from home (as I discovered during Covid). More importantly, it's simple enough that my stylist is fine with using it, and now I can get my hair cut and colored by her as I used to do, just using this product, which is delivered similar to how most hair dyes are in the store. My hair has now gone completely gray, but this product keeps it a vibrant, warm natural Auburn/brown color very close to my original hair color. While with most Henna products you can go very red, this Dark Brown actually keeps my hair that color. And because it's Henna, the way it dyes your hair makes it have natural highlights. Unlike traditional dyes which strip your hair and then "paint" each strand the same color, this works with the various tones that are naturally in your hair and colors them subtly differently so it looks very natural. However, if you don't want to actually color your hair, they also have color-free versions to use just for the health benefits of Henna, which naturally softens and strengthens your hair as well. Since I've been using this product, my hair has gotten healthier and stronger than ever, and makes it so soft. The downside is, of course, you have to apply it far more often than traditional permanent dyes. It is semi-permanent, meaning it will need re-application about every 4 - 6 weeks. However, for me that's about when I need to cover my roots up anyway nowadays, so it doesn't bother me. I do the roots myself at home in between salon visits. It's easy, takes me about an hour, and done.So... if you're looking for a natural organic alternative to hair dye, try this. Even if you're not forced into due to allergies like me, you may find you prefer it, as I do now, just because of how healthy it makes your hair.

SOOOO Much Easier Than Traditional Henna!
So I've been using Light Mountain Henna for years. Traditional henna is a pain; it's time consuming, messy, drips, smells, grainy and very hard to wash out. Im used to seeing little crumbles on my pillow for days afterwards. Results are great, and grey coverage is great, but its a process. As a result, I often let my hair grow out more than I should because I dread the process. When I tell you I LOVE this product, that is an understatement. This is my first time using a pre-mixed henna, and it seems there are not many brands out there. My hair is just to the top of my shoulders, so half a bottle covered my whole head. REALLY easy to apply, perfect consistancy and didnt drip! No smell! Honestly I was really shocked. I did read the other reviews....I washed my hair, applied damp and left it on for 2 hours and the color/coverage is great. As normal its about 1 shade too dark, and I am sure it will fade the the perfect color after a few washes. I chose chocolate and the greys are highlighted a beautiful copper color. If it fades too brassy I will experiment with other shades, but I am loving the color. I did not wash my hair for 3 days after application, and the color is really rich. I'm hoping for 6-8 weeks of coverage. Honestly if its less, with how simple/convenient application is I really wont mind doing it 1x a month if need be. This is a much better alternative to harsh traditional dyes, since its Henna based and filled with hair loving ingredients. If you are tired of the headache that comes with traditional henna, try this product! You will NOT be disappointed. I'll update when I have used it a few more times as to the lasting color/coverage.UPDATE: I have since colored 3 times, and absolutely LOVE this product. I will NEVER go back to traditional henna. I only shampoo my hair 3/4 times a week, so the color really lasts for me. It did fade a bit after a few washes, but did not turn brassy. The color stayed true. The greys look like a natural coppery highlight. Nearly 2 months on the first application before I started noticing greys peeking out around my hairline. I actually got 3 applications out of 1 bottle. Dont snip off the tip, just screw off the lid and you can save any remaining product. I cannot tell you how pleased I am to have found this product. Gorgeous color, amazing grey coverage and easy application/removal. Its a miracle.

Didn't work
I wanted to use this to color my gray to blonde. This product did not color my gray hair at all, just left a slightly hazy yellowish hue, but mostly, my hair still looks like my usual gray hair. I left the product in for 45 min.; the instructions said 30-60 min. But it didn't do anything, no blonde color. Also, the box came without plastic gloves and no hair cap (as per instructions), had to buy all this separately on my own. Usually, coloring packages have at least plastic gloves.

Mahogany covered white hair with magenta
The good news is that it was really easy to use and left my hair very soft. The bad news is that while my naturally dark brown hair was given a maroon (not mahogany) sheen, the white hairs that have come with aging (not silver, not grey, but true white) turned a very bright 90s style rocker magenta -- like a Kool aid color.I had never used hair color of any kind so my hair was natural and I followed directions to the letter. I have been washing my hair diligently every day for a week and while the natural brown has gotten closer to its natural color, the white now magenta shows no signs of fading.Good thorough coverage of white hair, but just be really confident that you want the Crayola color. It does not look remotely natural.

Longer lasting than the Clairol Rinse (no peroxide/ammonia)
Not cheap. But rated well on Yuka. Doesn’t damage hair. Hairline can stand to be done weekly, but the rest of the head/ every two weeks. Is now my go-to forever as long as the formula remains the same. Other hennas don’t rate well on Yuka so if that’s important to you know the hennas are not interchangeable.
