On the Origin of Species

Nice for the library but not for reading
This is a great work and everyone should have a copy. That said, this version is constructed similar to a cheap bible. The pages are opaque making it hard to read at any duration.

Retro hardcover, very nice little book.
Nice little book, quite happy with it. It arrived well enough packaged and undamaged which is always a good start. Was a little smaller than I was under the impression it might be, but it's pretty neat that it looks like the original publication back in the 19th century.

Must read for anyone
It is really astonishing how Darwin was able to explain his Theory of Natural Selection more than 150 years ago in such a detailed and convincing manner without all the evidence we have today. He explains the law of population growth based on essays of Thomas Malthus and was clever not to talk about humans. This helped him not to offend people with religious feelings. There is only one drawing in the book that he refers to many times and explains very well how natural selection works over thousands of generations.I highly recommend this book. It comes in a very nice cover and is certainly one of the most important books of all time.
