Best gift idea!
I got this for my husband after going to a really fancy restaurant that used something similar. He loves it! It's super fun and really unique, SO EASY to use. This one is great because it's so large, it works for two of us but can also be used with groups. Date night at home just got a lot more fun! I highly recommend it.

Get the BIGGER family serving set. It makes much more sense unless you are single.
For $54.95 you can get the either the Larger stone "Sharing" Family serving set (12.25" x 7.5" x 1'' stone) with the metal juice catching pan and bamboo platter OR a smaller stone with some ceramic dishes for sauces and side dishes more suitable for an individual. I first experienced this table top stone cooking at a restaurant in Davison Michigan and this is an excellent way to duplicate the experience at home for a small investment. I use my regular Gas oven with a maximum heat capacity of 550 degrees to heat the stone for about 1 hour. I can cook two, 6 to 8 oz Filets at a time with about 20 minutes of active cooking time. The instructions say to heat in the oven between 540 to 660 degrees but most ovens do not go higher than 550-600. At 550 you can get a very good fast sear but to get maximum flavor you will need to FIRST season the steak. I use a small amount of Emeril's Original Essence Seasoning and add fresh ground pepper and pink Himalayan salt both ground Very Coarse and RUB that mixture into both sides of the steak and let it stand for 10 minutes. Next you need to OIL the steak with a SMALL amount of a HIGH smoke point oil, like Grape seed oil. If you really like to get a charred flavor and don't mind the smoke you can use a lower smoke point oil like extra virgin olive, safflower or even melted butter(open the windows with Butter). Have everything else on the table, get that stone out of the oven and in the platter and drop those seasoned and oiled steaks on the stones and WOW your guests! Get a quick 1 minute sear on both sides, and because I'm a germaphobe I also quickly sear the sides of my steak too. Then start slicing and continuing to cook pieces to your taste as you go. The rare to medium rare doneness will come up pretty quick and if you slice it into thick slices the center will still be medium rare for some time. Those that like to destroy a steak to well done can slice off thin pieces and turn them to quickly eliminate the pink. The point is everyone gets it done to their own tastes with very little effort. Keep the salt and pepper grinders on the table and Yum Yum or Zip sauces to dip add to the choices. If you use lean cuts like the Filet Mignon the added Oil is very important, less so with the Ribeyes or New York strips. It is gonna make a fair amount of sizzling splattering mess on your table so a washable table cloth is advised and place the platter(s) in the middle of the table on an additional towel to protect the table from heat. This way of cooking is not for everyone or everyday because of the time, expense, and the smoke but sure is fun.

Family sized steak stone. Hate to see how small the personal ones are.
The media could not be loaded. Experienced this for the first time in a restaurant just outside of Dublin. Fell in love with the steak and the experience. Totally changes the way you eat steaks. Simply seer on all sides and throw on a hot stone. I removed the stone from the grill when it reached 550F. I used a touchless IR thermometer to gauge the stone temperature.PROS:Make amazing juicy steaksEach diner can cook to personal preference.Cleanup is easy using a stainless steel scouring pad, however they are VERY HEAVY!Appear to be well made. One side is slightly polished. Not sure if natural stone or man-made.CONS:Heavy (duh stone).I would not call these family size. They are good for one person. You can fit 2 steaks with no room for veggies. One of mine came with two cracks along the corner but has not broken off. Considering returning.

A lot of family fun
We tried this last night and it was such a fun experience. I sliced frozen sirloin into thin strips and used a Japanese terriaky sauce everyone liked. We cooked the strips on the stone and it stayed hot enough for over 25 mins. Finally got the kids to each steak. Will be doing again and recommending this product.

Add a cool factor to dinner!
We really enjoy this for family dinners. Super cool and this models is large enough for a family! I recommend heating the stone on the grill. The first time we did in the oven and it just wouldn’t get hot enough to cook more than a few minutes.

Does what they claim
First experienced cooking on a steak stone while on vacation in Mexico. We love to grill meat, but our winters make it tough to get outside to cook, so this stone makes it possible for us to cook meat the way we like it year round. It’s easy and fun to you. Clean up is a breeze and it doesn’t make a mess in my kitchen. Size is perfect for the amount we need to cook. Since we’ve shared our experiences with friends, several have been impressed enough to buy their own. Product is great and does everything they claim. Try it. You’ll like it!

This is a must have for the winter!!!
If you live somewhere with all 4 seasons and miss grilling for a part of the year this is a must have. Seriously. It’s so much fun to grill steak and shrimp in the middle of winter in our house. Just pop in the oven at 500. Use a special heat resistant mitt to take it out (you will want to invest in one. These things get hot. The mitts are great for barbecuing and campfires and such too and not too pricy). Put back on the bamboo plate and start cooking! We have a Black Rock restaurant around here and using this stone feels like going out there for dinner but much less expensive.Hubby and I enjoy cooking together and having a more active meal. Fun for entertaining as well. We like it so much that i just ordered one for my Dad for his birthday. I would give this 6 stars if I could!
