Not great, has a tendency for the fastenings to come loose very quickly during play. Very frustrating for the kids, the wrench tool inexplicably has no use and some of the screw fastenings will just spin with the nut having nothing to bite into whereas some parts have a texture that the nut locks onto so that you can really tighten it. Wouldn't recommend anyway, way too fragile to actually play with as a wind back sand buggy once built.

Box says 5+ and there is no way this is for a 5 year old to assemble, especially with a Alan key screw driver which didn't fit the screws, parts weren't secure (wheel falls off)Pull back mechanism didn't work either!

Agree with other reviews this is too difficult for children under the age of 7 or 8 .Tools are useless. Only comes with plans for 2 of the models it can make, you would have to print third plan off the Internet !!????. on the positive side it did pass away a wet morning.

Being as i can remember when meccano was a quality toy we bought this for my son who is getting into building cars/toys like this and lego technic.Firstly the allen key screwdriver doesn’t fit the bolts so i had to use a metal one.Secondly no matter how hard you try using the spanner and allen key the bolts will not stay tight.When your kid pics it up and it starts falling apart minutes after making it theres a problem.Quite honestly this toy doesn’t deserve the meccano name. Avoid it its garbage.

This was bought for a 7 year old boy as a birthday gift. To his disappointment, it was far too difficult for him to put together, the included tools did not fit the parts and the instructions were poor. It eventually took 2 adults several hours to put it together using other tools to do so - no fun for them or the birthday boy. Definitely not recommended for children particularly as the included tools were of no use!
