Once used to it, it’s sublime!
So, I would highly recommend this. It can fit an A4 page landscape (if you have a margin). It’s clear text and even has a correction tape for deleting (or whiting out) mistakes. The keyboard looks like a 90s pc keyboard, but that means that it doesn’t hurt your fingers. It has a bold function, and the ability to change spacing of letters and lines. It’s easy enough to change the margins (once you know how) and it will automatically go to the next line when you reach the right margin (if you set it to). But, two flaws. One, the keyboard has all the usual punctuation but not on the keys you’d expect. It’ll take a while to get used to the new positions of the grammatical units. The other flaw is that the instructions don’t tell you how to get the head to go far enough on to move the right margin to the edge, or the left one. Took me ages to work out. If you press “code” + “Space”, it will keep the head moving beyond the margin. Then you can set the margin to the new location. Press Mar Rel then backspace to set the left margin.Although, when you remove the label saying “Silver Reed EX70” it reveals a print on the casing saying “Nakajima AX-150”, so clearly a rebranded typewriter which silver reed had nothing to do with making, and which is actually a Nakajima product.

Instructions no help . This model not found on You tube or Google .
An absolute nightmare . Sadly unable to operate it, instructions useless, no one to call for help. Have tried a few typewriter places, to no avail . Money wasted .

How the machine is in use.
This was beautifully restored but oh dear a bit hard to use. The keys have to be really bashed and even then the print can be a but feint. It took me ages to write a letter on it! Maybe with use it will ease a bit. I certainly hope so as it’s a lovely looking machine, well restored and amazingly well packed for delivery.
